We really enjoyed our stay at Alexander Plaza and we will definitely stay here again the next time we go to Berlin. Close to Alexanderplatz, Berliner Dom, Hackescher Markt and public transport. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful and the room was large and modern with all the amenities we needed. We chose... More

We have booked a business double room for our one night stay in Berlin. I must say I am quite dissapointed about the level of the hotel. The room was extra small and could hardly open any doors as theyre bumping into something. You could hardly move around the bath as the shower door could not even open as was... More

My husband and I were quite impressed with the hotel for the first two nights, when he was working in Berlin. They accommodated my request for gluten-free bread and the buffet breakfast is good. The only real negative was the lack of tea-making facilities in the room. However, on the Friday and Saturday nights a large group of young Englishmen... More

I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights in April, 2015. It is a comfortable hotel in a great location. The bar is fairly small but they do have one. I didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on the food. For me, it was about the location and having a clean, friendly hotel to stay at and Hotel... More

The room and general conditions of this hotel are good. Poor service and not very nice staff. To ask extra snacks at 10.00 pm was not possible. One morning alarme rang for 15m, no information to the guests.

I stayed in this hotel on a business trip and I had to do some work in the room. The rooms were very quiet, spacious, clean and well furnished with a good desk. Location can't be beaten, public transportation nearby and a lot of places within walking distance. The only reason I didn't rate the hotel as excellent is the... More

Staying at this hotel was a pleasure. The hotel has a perfesct location to many of the most populr places in Berlin - most in walking ditance. The room was big and had good beds. The bathroom was neat and had the equipment you need. The staff was helpful and serviceminded. This stay made is very likely that we will... More

Great hotel, lovely staff but description did say that it came with internet in the room and it didn't. The internet was so poor and patchy I really don't think they should advertise it as included. If you don't mind not having internet access then this is a great place to stay, but for me I wanted to plan my... More

I came here on a sightseeing trip. Much of my research was to be done on the internet in my room. But the internet was terrible for 3 days which really hampered my efforts. I complained to the reception only to be told that it was because there were lots of people using it. Firstly I doubt that was the... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
