This is a hotel that keeps its promises. Located in a prosperous neighborhood, surrounded by traditional private city housing, we found a very friendly staff, comfortable room, brilliant bathroom, cosy pool, fine sauna and an excellent breakfast. What should you know? Booking for late arrival - they have a key box that will allow you access to your room at... More

Due to late incoming flights we did not arrive until 01:30 in the morning. I got rather skeptical when I saw that the hotel was closed for the night. Standing outside in a not so busy street in the middle of the night and bad weather is not what you kneed after some hours of traveling. Luckily there was a... More

Just got back from Berlin, from Hotel Villa Kastania. My wife's sister had chosen this hotel for her wedding party. You never get a second chance to make a first impression and.......they did not need a second chance: we checked in early, no problem, clean, a very clean hotel: inside and outside, clean ashtrays, terras clean, and pool and fitness... Glad we picked this hotel. Nice to get slightly away from busier streets. We had a double room with balcony overlooking a quiet leafy suburban street. The room and balcony were shady and cool in the evening which was pleasant after a busy day. Others might prefer a sunnier position for the evening - if that is important to you,... More

Stayed at the hotel last weekend with my husband. I booked this hotel especially as we wanted to be closer to the Olympic Stadium that the city centre, yet still accessible via the great U Bahn. The area is quite residential and very leafy but the hotel is within a couple of minutes walk of the Theodor-Heuss-Platz U Bahn. The... More

I had booked my room online, had pre-payed an extra fee (Euro 35,-) for "guaranteed early check-in", and was looking forward to a nice bath tub (according to room description) after a long international flight. Upon arrival, the receptionist "welcomed" me by claiming that no rooms are ready yet. Only after some discussion, she suddenly found one nevertheless. Not very... More

Although the price for this hotel is similar to other hotels in the direct city center, it has certain its advantages for a vacation spent in Berlin - it is rather small and thus cozy and you get this personal attention from staff, e.g. by day 3 they had learnt how we want our coffee :); it lies in a... My partner and I had the misfortune of booking this hotel for our holiday in Berlin. It was advertised as 4 star and we paid over £130 per night. On arrival there was no welcome, no one to take our bags to the room. We were just handed a key to our room and pointed in a particular direction. The... More

This is one of the few instances where I've stayed at a hotel I didn't reserve myself. My wife's aunt, whom we were meeting in Berlin, had stayed at the hotel a number of times, booked the room as an early anniversary present for us. We flew into Berlin and took the train and metro to a stop near the... More

Overall - well worth every penny. Paying for the VIP extra's was so-so worthwhile (including a room upgrade / robes etc). We were so very very happy with this hotel. The most helpful (excellent & English speaking) & knowledgeable reception staff. Its friendly morning & evening restaurant staff. The excellent cleaners who were very quiet until about 0930hrs each day.... More
