My wife and I spent two weeks at the Kubrat. The hotel is not flash by any means, but the price is great for decent accommodation located right in the center of Berlin. Literally meters away from Checkpoint Charlie and Potsdamer Platz you will not find a cheaper priced hotel in this great location. The room was spacious and clean,... More

We checked in and then we found out that they mixed up with the type of the room we ordered. And apperantly the room that we asked for they said will be avialable only a day before we will leave. So we won't go back to this hotel. Allthough it's really nice.

I am sure they are still in business due to the great location and affordable cheap stay. The staff was just absolutely rude. If you do not look like you have $$$$ do not expect a friendly greeting! Would never stay here if it was even free.

We rented an apartment with two bedrooms and a living room. We had a lot of room, but the standard was not too good. It felt very shabby. The sofa had a hole, the bathtub was stained and they forgot to give us soap until the last day. The room smelled from cigarette smoke when we arrived. Ok for the... More

Four nights in Berlin at Kubrat. Pros: The location is just spectacular. Brandenburg Gate, checkpoint Charlie, museums, dining are a VERY short walk. The metro is right around the corner. Secure. Bathrooms are good. Detachable shower heads, bath, plumbings fine, etc. Good cheap minibar. Plenty of room, even for a single. That's actually about it. Cons: The whole place stinks... More

A big appartement for the hole family, quit and clean with two bedrooms and two toilets. But a refridgerator should be a good service. The male staff is not very friendly, the woman however are top! But in the middle of Berlin with to Ubahn stations round the corner and checkpoint Charlie just 500 m ahead, this is a top... More

Hotel is superbly located for walking around central Berlin. We had a 2 bed apartment which was comfortable and reasonably well appointed. Some furniture looked a bit cheap though. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was good value. Wifi in hotel but not apartments.

Great people, great location, just metres away from U BAHN, average breakfast, but amazing and helpful people at the desk and the restaurant. And Berlin seems super cool and super cheap. Rooms are big, clean and sound proofed despite the proximity to the main road. Brandenburg is walkable! Shall definitely stay here again!

you will not find a better deal in this location, stayed here four nights. we stayed in the apartment building behind the hotel , it was an old soviet designed place so it was not much to look at . and as everyone says the place needs a makeover, yes it's worn, but the beds were clean the water was... Firstly, I want to say thanks so much for the kindness afforded to me at this hotel. I arrived with little notice and then met with forthcoming strike at airport - everyone here has been fantastic helping me out. This hotel is older style and the room HUGE!!!!! I have been made to feel most welcome and comfortable. If you... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
