We had a great, great time in Berlin and part of it was due to this hotel. The rooms were basic but very clean and quiet, very cool (we didn;t need A/C) and quite inexpensive (52 euro/night). But the best part was its location. right near Ku'Damm so you can visit the Zoo, the Tiergarten park and the Ku'Damm itself,... More

Gorgeous, renovated older building, they kept the beauty of the old halls, stairways and entrance while completely updating the bedrooms and bathrooms. High ceilings, a bar, a vending machine with sandwiches and drinks, a lift, soundproof rooms, very central location, smack dab in the centre of downtown, right next to Kurfurstendamm Ubahn (subway) station. Next to tons of shopping, retail... More

The location is good and front is also good and kind. My room was a little bit narrow, but it was OK as a single trip. It was a good time to stay here. I'll stay here again when I go to Berlin.

This hotel is between the Ku'damm and the Zoologischer Garten Station, a great location. Be aware that it is in the middle of the block on the east side of the street. Easy to miss and not notice. A great location and value at less than $90 US/night. Slightly run down in some of the common areas and short staffed.... More

Very central hotel, with short way to shopping. Many well known stores. Close to bus and tram station so you can travel all over the town. Best Christmas Market of those we visited. Only few minutes walk from the hotel.

This is such a great location for the Christmas Markets and easy to get into the centre of the city from. The hotel is quirky and baroque, clean and friendly. The room was a bit dated but I've seen worse. The TV didn't work but we weren't there for that anyway. Cleaned every day and fresh towels given. We walked... More

Fantastic place to stay and very central to everything. The hotel is clean, cheap and the staff are very friendly and they speak english. The breakfast room is large and spacious and the choice of breakfast is really good. You can choose the continental option of fruit, yogurt, meat and cheese, or have toast and porridge, or cereals. The hotel is... More

I visited Berlin and stayed at this hotel from 16th- 19th November. The room was basic, clean and tidy but quite dated decor with an old TV in the room. Only thing was there was some noisy girls staying in the room next to me and I could hear their conversation really loudly and they kept me awake. The walls... More

If you are interested to the Berlin Zoo area and not to the hotel this would be a good place to stay for a night. About the hotel it looks quite worn by ages. I've been in other Hotel by Azimu chain and they are much more up-to-date with nice and modern solution. The carpet all over the hotel is... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
