you're fast in the city center (Friedrichstrasse) and many restaurant and bars close by. The hotel offers a good breakfast buffet. A good pizzeria is right next to Hotel. My only complaint was my noisy room.

Stayed for 3 days and found it a comfortable, quiet, clean hotel with friendly staff. Well-situated for public transport and walking. Carpets a bit tired in some areas but hey - it's an oldish building. We had a room facing into the internal courtyard which was dressed for Christmas with trees, white lights and candles - lovely. Our room was... More

Stayed here for the Berlin Marathon. The location was great because it was a short walk to the start/finish, and was also very close to the subway station (maybe a 5 minute walk), the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag. There were also quite a few restaurants nearby and the river is just down the street. The room was clean, but... More

Stayed for 2 nights 7 - 9th November 2015. Situated about 100M from Friedrichstrasse railway station. Arrived early and room was available immediately with a minimum of fuss at the reception. The room was situated on the 4th floor accessible by lift and was a good size with 2 windows and views of the properties opposite on Marienstrasse. Wifi was... More

This is an excellently located hotel. 1 block from Fredrickstrasse train station which S bahn/u bahn/ and DB trains. Rooms are OK with newly rennovated bathrooms (small). This is a 3 star hotel due to its reasonable price. It is owned by a church based organization but no evidence of an faith based influence except a chapel where Martin Luther... More

Close to city center. Available for walking tour. Cosy street and near the river. There are many bars and restaurants around. Safe for everyone. Rooms are not too small. Location is very good. Dont need transportation. (if you like walking) I would definetly stay again. Internet was terrible, it is diffucult to connect wifi.

Dear Ms. Nihalcagg, thank you very much for the positive review. I am very happy to see you enjoyed your stay at the Albrechtshof! It is a perfect place to stay for a sightseeing trip since a lot of Berlin’s greatest sights are within walking distance. I will let our IT-department know about the WiFi-difficulty. Maybe there is a possibility... More

This is a very comfortable and clean hotel. It is 1 block from the Friedrichstrasse train station and from the Spree River. Close to lots of restaurants and walking distance to most sights in the city. Internet is not the most reliable as it cuts out a lot but not a deterrent. We are a mature couple and arrived wearing... Nevertheless, I am not happy to hear how you were welcomed... More

I stayed here on a work trip July 2015. Pros: wonderful breakfast, perfect location, friendly staff. Cons: wifi was weak and it was unusually hot in Berlin--we were given fans but there was no AC. Overall I would highly recomend this hotel. My room was spacious and overlooked the pretty courtyard. My room had large tall windows allowing alot of... More

I have stayed here multiple times on business. The location can't be beat- steps from Friedrichstrasse Station but on a quiet, charming street with several good cafes and restaurants nearby. The rooms are small and basic. The staff is super friendly, the atmosphere in the lobby is nice and the breakfast buffet is excellent.

What a great location for a city break! 100m from a major train station, 100m from the lovely river, bars and cafe's all around, a bakery round the corner - very nice breakfast (pay extra) - decent room if a bit basic but very clean and presentable. Only problem was with Wifi which didn't work and you had to keep... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
