Good value for money hotel located in an excellent position near the river in what was East Berlin. It's on a side street and very quiet with lots of bars and restaurants just minutes away and easy to walk to many sights and attractions. We had a room facing the inner courtyard so it was extremely quiet. Breakfast was very... More

Great location, near the river and the S-Bahn and U-Bahn and many attractions. We walked almost everywhere. Reasonable rates, good breakfast. The room itself was fine. But it can be a little noisy on weekends, so request a quiet room.

The Albrechtshof Hotel is in a wonderful central location and exudes charm -- particularly in the summer when you can rekax in the quiet and sunny inner courdyard and enjoy the fantastic cuisine from their famous restaurant! The rooms could be of a slighter higher quality and the carpet is in need of a change. But these details are outweighted... More

This was our first time staying in any hotel in Germany and we loved it! The rooms were nicely decorated and very comfortable! The beds were so cozy I didn't want to get up in the morning! Hotel staff were all wonderful and upbeat. The breakfast was amazing! It had everything you'd find in a traditional German breakfast. We would... More

We had a 3-day family visit to Berlin, and were delighted with this hotel which had been recommended by friends. Our room was spacious (very spacious by European standards), the service was always friendly and helpful, and the location could not be better for first time visitors. The hotel is on a small street close to the Friedrichstrasse train station... More

Rooms are clean and comfy. Street side rooms are a little noisy, but not enough to keep you awake. Food is good, but breakfast is the same every day so if you have a long stay it gets a little old. Staff are helpful. Stayed for a meeting; the meeting rooms are not great when it is hot as you... More

We were booked in here as part of a conference - I was the accompanying spouse and I LOVED this hotel...found myself wondering about what it was in years gone by but right now, it's in a fabulous location right near train station and boat pick-ups - I quickly found my way around town walking - Reichstag, Berlinerdom, Alexanderplatz. I... More

We stayed here for several days for a conference and also a couple of days of holiday. It is near the Brandberger Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. All within walking distance. Its also near the train stations and public transportation. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are nice and clean. Ours was located on the west side of the... More

On a quiet side street, this small hotel still is just a block from the train station, the river, many restaurants, and an easy walk to most attractions and shopping. The bus from the airport stops about three blocks away, and those busses run all the time. The breakfast was quite fine, the room was clean and though fairly Spartan... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
