Prior to booking this hotel, I read in the reviews that the rooms are a bit dated but were spacious. I agree. The interiors are a bit old but for an Ibis hotel they are quite big. Stayed here for 3 nights in early July. Its very good value for money and nicely located, just two stops from the main... More

We stayed for only one night at the hotel. The hotel's location is ideal to move in areas around Alexanderplatz. The staff is very courteous and happy to help. Upon check-in we found that the air conditioner in our room was not working. The matter was brought to the reception staff's notice. He did not take a minute to allow... More

I stayed here for a week with a friend, using Berlin as a base for day trips. ROOM: We stayed in a twin room. It was immaculately clean, and the beds were comfortable. However, it was a little on the small side: to pull the twin beds apart, we had to collapse one of the two fold-down bedside tables (they... More

Small but clean rooms. Layout was not to my liking with the sink and bright light facing the bed. Best you know your room mate very well! Breakfast was good quality and choice. Very limited car parking and very expensive, this hotel is ideal if you are travelling by public transport. The city attractions are within walking distance. The neighbourhood... More

Just stayed here for a night after going to Berlin on a business trip. The setting of the hotel is slightly unusual as it sits directly above a petrol station! The location is still excellent and very near Alexanderplatz. The room was a good size and I really liked the fact that there was an inner door to separate the... More

I've stayed at this hotel several times over the past 10 years. Customer service is always excellent, rooms are clean and fresh, location is ideal - 2 minutes from nearest tram stop or 10 minutes' walk from Alexanderplatz, food is good, with a good range of breakfast options, and hotel is quiet for such a central location.

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
