Very friendly helpful staff who could all speak English fluently. We were able to check into our rooms early and leave luggage after check out. Close to tram stop, bus stop and 5/10 minutes from the Prenzlauerberg area where there were many reasonably priced restaurants in a quiet friendly location. Rooms were clean and comfortable and of a reasonable size.... More

Small room and bathroom but functional. No hand towels, facecloth, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, clock radio, Kleenex. Fantastic location! Steps to the best area in Berlin Prenslauerberg with hundreds of restaurants and little shops in a great residential neighbourhood. Two main public transportation routes outside the door. Alexander Platz a 10 minute walk away. Friendly staff. Free wifi was more than... More

Went together with a friend to the IBIS Berlin Mitte. Room and bathroom was clean and big enough for us. Although the Hotel is situated to a main road, there was no noise during the night. The staff had been very friendly to us and we could check in at 1pm!! (In common, this is not possible and you only... More

The room is bigger than the ibis style around the corner but basic and a bit lack of style and run dow. however it is clean. Staff were friendly and helpful during my stay. Location is ok, about 10 mins walk to Alexanderplatz station if you don't mind walking. Or one tram station ride away.

We stayed here for five nights and the experience was fine - room clean, everything worked and breakfast was reasonable, although something ran out on every day - milk, orange juice especially. Wifi worked well and there is a PC in the foyer. There is a natural tendency to link the hotel to Alexanderplatz, 10 mins down the road, but... More

Hotel was clean and safe. 24hr bar was good. beds comfy, rooms were a bit too hot, aircon did not seem to work right, no big deal as we had the room window open. about a 5-10minute walk down to AlexanderPlatz. all in all, good for the money.

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
