We stayed at the hotel for our 15th Wedding Anniversary last week, we booked last minute so I sent an email asking for a room with a view. On arrival the staff were very friendly but unfortunately didn't get my email. The room we had was rather dated but had everything you would expect. Breakfast was great and there was... More

I stayed at this hotel on the eve of previous Christmass for three nights. Some comments about its stars intrigued me, but I soon found that this is just a mere semiological discussion, since the price you pay justifies fully what you take. I enjoyed my stay there. Everything was clean and tidy. The staff was very discrete and correct.... More

I was in this hotel again after 20 years and it is now in the need of renovation. The lobby and restaurant have been renovated and they are nice, but the corridoors in the floors are not so nice with old charpets and dark. Also the bathroom could be renovated. Anyway, the room was clean and big enough with a... More

The hotel is perfectly situated for touring the sites of Berlin, and conveniently situated right on the same street as Hardrock and all the shops a girl dreams of shopping in...Prada etc. staff are all very pleasant and helpful and went out of their way to get our room sorted quickly as we'd been traveling a long time and our... Upon arrival we were told that we didn't have a reservation at the hotel even after presenting the receptionist with a confirmation. We were then told to go and sit down for a few minutes while they tried to sort this. After waiting half an hour i went to reception to be told this wasn't sorted yet - baring in... More

Not 4* .... dated bathrooms, basic rooms which they didn't even make up/ clean for the 3 days we were there. Lobby area is much nicer than the rest of the hotel. Breakfast - continental style but with a bit more choice than you normally get. Wifi - free but slow. Good location for shopping and some decent restaurants nearby

The hotel is an OK hotel that seems to be lacking the modern touch. Firstly the staff aren't friendly - I was not met in a pleasant manner. I asked for a room on the higher floors as recommended by a review to be told that I had a room towards the back which would stop the noise. It didn't... More

The title sums most of it up.just off the main shopping district in the west of the city,5 min walk from the zoo train terminal,we couldn't of picked a better Iocation.the lobby was clean and pleasant, but the rooms looked like it hadn't been touched since the 80's.very Bourne identity, coupled with the distinctive police siren back drop. We asked to be... More

I ended up in this hotel by accident after I was walked here by the Windham Excelsior. This is by no means a four star hotel, this is my experience in the room: - No amenities in the bathroom. - Hard, uncomfortable bed, bad sleeping guaranteed. - Old narrow curtains in the window that don't block the light. - NO... The rooms are probably the only dated part of the hotel. The lobby/bar are very nice and so is the breakfast room. Apart from the rooms being dated, they are also laid out a bit oddly. The TV for example is off to the side of the bed, which makes watching it in bed near impossible. The major downside for... More

Thank you very much for sharing your impressions of your stay in our hotel. We are very happy that overall you have enjoyed your time in Berlin. Indeed, since the hotel is full of history, the structural conditions are not to everyones taste. We are surprised however to read about your challenge with the room service. Our bar/restaurant is opened... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
