The hotel staff make up for some of the odd and tired elements of the hotel. The rooms are fine -bu very basic. Our first room provided no ventilation and we were "upgraded" to the Presidents Club section of the hotel (actually a different building) where we found there was no drawers or closet space. The staff made tremendous efforts... More

The hotel itself is ok, the neighborhood is great. The food is acceptable, the rooms more or less standard. There was however too much noise on the hallway. The Internet worked for the lucky few who managed to get a connection. Most of the time it was not possible to get a connection. When you eventually got one (several times... More

My son was on a European tour with a children choir last month. The children stayed at BW for 3 nights. The baths smelled disgusting, the food was terrible. The small elevator was not maintained at all and two of the group were stuck for a hour in it. The rooms were not clean. The staff was not friendly and... More

I was in Berlin with my sister, who came by air from London, while I travelled by train, as I live in Frankfurt. Though I arrived early, at 9.30, I was able t o enter my room straight away and unpack my case before going to Schönefeld airport to meet my sister.. The room was very pleasant, was nice and... Dated and not well kept. The bathroom smells unpleasantly, the windows not cleaned in ages. Extremely loud - no soundproof windows. Unfriendly aloof receptionist. I wonder how this place may keep the accreditation from Best Western.

This hotel is in great location , comfortable enough for a few nights, somewhat dated but clean.. The rooms are not as small as some european hotels but the bathrooms are very small. breakfast buffet was good, not included in hotel rate, cost about 10 euro.

I have stayed in this hotel many times now. The reason for that it is a short walk to my work. It is also close to Subway and Bus. This means it is only minutes away from the center and KaDeWe. As I normally only come to the hotel for sleeping it suits me very well. Please be aware there... More

Certainly no gem - basic rooms needing jazzing up a bit. Rooms are just like they are in the US - clean but basic. The most annoying aspects were: - houskeeping waking me at 8:15 am to clean the room and then again when I was in the shower at 8:45! - after I checked in and got to my... More

Dear Matt, Thank you for your review here on TripAdvisor. We like to apologize for the lack of service you experienced during your stay at our hotel. Staying in Schoneberg

Neighborhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the center of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the center of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
