Is about Perfect for my purposes - about 200 m from the famous KaDeWe. All in All it looks like an 80's hotel in the Rooms And common areas. Needs some New furniture. Although bathroom looks brand New. No risk of slipping in bathroom and showers. Too small for that! I booked and paid beforehand for two persons. In the... More

I have been staying here in summers off an on for ten years. I see cutbacks. I stay in the Presidential Club. This trip, in August of 2015, the carpets in the room were dirty. There was not a bathrobe until I asked for one, and then it took 3 days to be delivered. I may give it another chance,... More

The hotel looks grotty from the outside but is slightly better inside. The hotel staff were average and not particularly helpful for first time tourists to Berlin. Not great location but there is a metro station 5/7 min walk away which can take you into central Berlin. We asked for a double bed and got two twins instead. Also when... More

First impression was good, friendly staff. The room was ok but I've seen better and our bed broke, twice and everything just seemed old... And the internet connection was horrible which frustrated my husband.

The hotel staff make up for some of the odd and tired elements of the hotel. The rooms are fine -bu very basic. Our first room provided no ventilation and we were "upgraded" to the Presidents Club section of the hotel (actually a different building) where we found there was no drawers or closet space. The staff made tremendous efforts... More

The hotel itself is ok, the neighborhood is great. The food is acceptable, the rooms more or less standard. There was however too much noise on the hallway. The Internet worked for the lucky few who managed to get a connection. Most of the time it was not possible to get a connection. When you eventually got one (several times... More

My son was on a European tour with a children choir last month. The children stayed at BW for 3 nights. The baths smelled disgusting, the food was terrible. The small elevator was not maintained at all and two of the group were stuck for a hour in it. The rooms were not clean. The staff was not friendly and... More

I was in Berlin with my sister, who came by air from London, while I travelled by train, as I live in Frankfurt. Though I arrived early, at 9.30, I was able t o enter my room straight away and unpack my case before going to Schönefeld airport to meet my sister.. The room was very pleasant, was nice and... Dated and not well kept. The bathroom smells unpleasantly, the windows not cleaned in ages. Extremely loud - no soundproof windows. Unfriendly aloof receptionist. I wonder how this place may keep the accreditation from Best Western.

This hotel is in great location , comfortable enough for a few nights, somewhat dated but clean.. The rooms are not as small as some european hotels but the bathrooms are very small. breakfast buffet was good, not included in hotel rate, cost about 10 euro.

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighborhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the center of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the center of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
