An old hotel, with not the newest or fanciest interior, but clean and cosy. Quite ok beds, and small bathroom. But for me a hotel is just for the night stay, I prefer to be out and looking around during the day. Service minded and helpful staff. Excellent location, close to Underground station, shopping center and Kurfüstendam fancy shopping street.... More

The comfort hotel Auberge in the bayreutherstrasse, near wittenburgerplatz (U-bahn station) is very good quality for a reasonable price. The city of Berlin (Mitte) is easily reached by foot (40 minutes), taxi (€10,-) or metro. The rooms are spacious and clean, service friendly and the breakfast good.

We booked online and had an easy check-in at the hotel with Antje who was very pleasant along with the rest of the staff. She explained everything and got our family our two rooms right away. The hotel offers parking in a garage about 20 steps from the hotel and we had no problem parking our American sized mini-van. Breakfast... More

Hotel is in great place, 100 m from Kadewe and to U-bahn (Witterbergplatz) is about 2 min walk! Easy to move everywhere for example to Alexanderpaltz. To Zoologisher garten is 10 min walk or one metrostop. Hotel is nice, small and rooms very cosy. Comfort rooms are huge with sitting area! Bathrooms quite small, but new. Breakfast is good. Some... This is a small hotel that is in a great location. It is right by a main shopping street and the well known department store Ka Wa De is right around the corner. There are lots of restaurants in the area. The beds are firm, they are box springs with a thin pad on top. They nichol and dime you... More

We stayed in this hotel for 3 days. Unfortunately, the staff completely ignored that we are with a young baby and we got the SMALLEST room on the damned 4th floor, with a ridiculously small bathroom. I know this because the map of the floor was displayed. Since the elevator is 1. tiny, 2. stops between the floors, we had... More

My friend and I stayed there 19 nights over the Christmas and New Years holidays. Having become ill with a serious cold, we were unable to continue our trip - so we extended. The staff was very thoughful - helping me assemble a breakfast tray each morning - which was taken to the room. Room 23 was a "comfort" room... More

This is a lovely hotel and an excellent place to stay while visiting Berlin. Extremely clean, nicely decorated, comfortable bed, spacious, quiet, good heating, lots of hot water, very helpful and polite staff, free Internet, conveniently located near Kaiser supermarket, Ka De We & Europa shopping centres, subway (Wittenbergplatz). Reasonably priced. We stayed 5 nights and could not have been... More

We enjoyed our stay here. The location was perfect, the rooms were a good size but the bathroom was very small. Staff helpful. Amazingly quiet when you think you are very close to the main roads and shops. The only problem we had was that the wifi was poor intermittent and often not working at all. Our room 40 was... More

I have stayed here for three night with my family. The hotel is situated in the center, near Kurfürstendamm. The rooms are nice, clean, big enough but there are differences, especially in the size of the bathrooms. Some rooms are facing to the street others to the courtyard of the building. I would say quiet if the floor is not... More

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighborhood Profile
In 1963, Schöneberg was the center of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the center of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
