For the price we paid this hotel was really great. The location was good, the room was tidy and the staff friendly and very helpful. The biggest downside was that the wifi kept logging you out a few times while using the internet. The bathroom was really clean and big. There's a nice bakery about 100 m from the hotel... More

I booked to stay here for my birthday for 3 nights as part of the Into The Nights promotion. The hotel has great transport links around the city and to the airports. It is located in a quiet neighbourhood about 10 minutes by tram to Alexanderplatz and a 10 minute walk to Prenzlauer Alee S-Bahn station. Some HI's are quite... More

Very convenient access to and from airport on S Bahn. Excellent access to centre of Berlin and local restaurant areas by tram, comfortable rooms, helpful staff and very good breakfast. A bit soulless, but that's not the point. Good choice for a mini break

Nice hotel in a homely locality. Very easily accessible from Alexandar Platz by a tram. Far away from a decent restaurant. Nice and well ventilated room. Basic spread for the breakfast. Not ideal for a long stay.

We visited our son in Berlin last weekend and stayed at this hotel - we have to say this was one of the best experiences we have had staying in a hotel - the staff are delightful - they make you so welcome on arrival and nothing is too much trouble for them. The breakfast is delicious and again the... More

What a lovelly place to stay. The room was clean and extremely quiet, the main tram was just outside and just fifteen minutes away from Alexander Platz, we had a ball leaving early in the morning staggering back by 8-9pm at night after a full day of exploring. I can honestly say I will be back and it was well worth... More

We arrived at 11 in the morning and we were told that we had to wait until 3 o clock before we could use our room. The other thing was they had no wheelchair room even though I booked it . On the stairs at near the reception has a ramp that is so dangerous . There was no security... More

OMG This is the WORST Holiday Inn I have ever stayed in. Here is the list 1-arrogant unfriendly receptionist woman. If you have the misfortune of staying here you will know who I am talking about 2- money hungry management: they want to charge you 5 euros for a 1 minute local call! 3-NO HOT WATER -NO HEAT from 1am... Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
