The hotel is right night to a tram stop that goes to the city centre and a few minutes walk from the train stop. The receptionist was very good and gave us tips on where to go and what to do but the room STANK of smoke. The curtain fell down and we were blamed for it. Not the best... More

I stayed here for four nights with a friend. I stay in a lot of Holiday Inns, and this is one doesn't deviate from the usual good standard. The front desk staff were all friendly, the rooms quiet and comfortable and the bathrooms clean. As usual for a Holiday Inn 'proper', breakfast was very well stocked and staffed, if a... More

We were disappointed in our stay at the Holiday Inn. Usually the Holiday Inn chain is clean and tidy but this was not the case at this hotel. The showerhead was old and you couldn't really adjust it properly. The temperature went everywhere and the there was mold on the walls and floor of the bathroom. Also the toilet tank... More

Very easy access from Schønefeldt airport - U9 to Prenzlauer Alle and then a 5 min walk - easy even with a suitcase. The area Prenzlauer Berg is nice with a lot of good restaurants in all price-ranges, nice small shops. Breakfast and lunch og decent to good quality. The room was disappointing, neither the carpet nor the chairs looked... More

Room was very spacious! Also big bathroom, although my shower drained very slowly and left me standing in a pool of water while I bathed. Location was pretty good - decent walking distance to all of Prenzlauer Berg as well as reasonable proximity to the S-Bahn:

You pretty know what to expect from a Holiday Inn. Clean, well maintained & functional - this hotel has them all. The location of this one is great. Really enjoyed the laid back district this is set in. All transport links are available to get to the city centre if required. Plus point of this hotel - extremely friendly staff,... More

Checked in very quick as there were two members of staff at the desk. Also bought a Berlin travel pass from reception that gives access to all public transport. If you buy the Zone C one then the entire city is covered. Also museum, shops, restaurants and other attractions are included at great discounts so it virtually pays for itself... More

We are traveling and spent a few days in Berlin. We were interested in the Prenzlauer neighborhood which is near this hotel. It must not be good close as I am not sure we ever found it. The hotel's location is very good. It's a quiet neighborhood. I liked it much more than the city center. Yet the hotel is just a few meters from the tram stop. So you can be in Alexanderplatz in ten minutes. It's not a high-end luxury hotel so our expectations were not very high but still it was better than what... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
