For the price the room was nice. One bed and a giant window. There wasn't any AC but there was a fan and the window was great, until party goers started walking home at 4am. The towels were way to small for adults but there was a complimentary breakfast. Nice for a cheaper room.

Upstalsboom is a basic hotel that is clean, affordable and offers rooms with kitchenettes. This hotel does not have air conditioning but does have large windows that allow in the breeze. The breakfast buffet is fresh, plentiful and can get extremely packed. They are strict about closing down the buffet at the designated time so be sure not to arrive... More

So when we arrived at the hotel in a day which was 35 degrees hot and came to the reception, we were completely surprised by the fact there is no air conditioning in the hotel. All they gave us were little fans which didnt help much. Besides this issue the hotel has a very good breakfast and they are very... More

Moin, Moin! Dear dogli980, thanks for the review of our hotel on "Trip Advisor". Thank you also for your kind words about the breakfast and our staff. I am however very sorry to read that you did not enjoy your stay at the hotel without restrictions. We apologize for the high room temperatures during of extreme hot weather conditions. Unfortunately... More

It's location is good close to plenty of public transport. Spacious rooms and free wifi. Could be improved by more pillows. The included buffet breakfast is excellent with a wide range of options. Staff were friendly and despite there being a stag do group on the same floor as us, noise was not a problem.

Did a thorough Tripadvisor search before booking this, and was concerned that a few people had said the area was a bit odd and that there wasn't much nearby etc. Having been, I can only imagine that either a) these people aren't able to cross the road or b) weren't in town to experience east Berlin, nothing struck me as... Nice and clean hotel, there are plenty of restaurants nearby and a lot of bar at the otherside of Warschauer Strasse. The breakfast is really good, there are many kind of choices to eat, we haven't tried the lunch or dinner. Only problem for me: there was no free internet connection, just for 24 hours and the connection was quite... More

Did a Friday to Tuesday at this hotel in August 2014. Absolutely the best long weekend I've had. First of all my partner and I decided instead of getting a taxi we'd use someone's directions on here to find it, success! I'd recommend as it was very easy and much cheaper. When we arrived at the S-Bahn station is was... More

I stayed in this hotel while visiting Berlin's Christmas markets and found it was superb. Location was good, only a short walk to the train station and quite easy to get to and from the airport. The general appearance of the establishment is well appointed both inside and out, rooms are spotless too and the beds are extremely comfortable with... More

We stayed at the Hotel for a few nights in February, lovely spacious and clean room/bathroom. Very helpful staff and the breakfast had something for everyone from continental to traditional German. Internet free in your room (as it should be in every hotel). The only draw back would be that the TV stations are obviously German or other European channels... More

We stayed here for 5 nights in February. The reason we booked this hotel was the proximity to the O2 stadium where I had booked tickets for a concert. As it turned out, we couldn't have found a better place for sightseeing, restaurants and public transport to see all that Berlin has to offer. The O2 is 15 mins walk... More

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighborhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
