We stayed at the hotel during some of the hottest days of August, and the fact that there was no airconditioning made it a bit uncomfortable. We did ask for a fan, which they provided, but it was so hot it didn't really help. There was quite a bit of outside noise due to having to keep the windows open.... More

The Savoy Hotel is a classic hotel in former West Berlin. The building has survived the war and is located very centrally, close to subways and the famous Kurfuerstendamm, one of the major shopping streets in Berlin. The hotel used to be the hangout of people like Thomas Mann, Greta Garbo and Henry Moore. Clearly this is not the place... More

Friendly staff, comfortable beds, but no air-conditioning. With four nights in Berlin, each day 35-40 degrees, the lack of air-conditioning made my stay not too comfortable. The hotel provided a oscillating fan, but this did not prevent my nights from being very warm. Judging by my room, the hotel is in need of renovation, with the bathroom tiles being cracked... More

The Savoy Hotel Berlin is a nice hotel in a great location, with walking distance to major sightseeing points. The room decoration looks a bit outdated, but on the other hand, it was very cozy and comfortable with free wifi. The front desk staff were quite helpful. But the best thing about this hotel is its Cigar Bar... It is... More

The location of the hotel is excellent, as you’re not far from the Kurfürstendamm as well as lots of restaurants and bars you can walk to within a short distance. The Berlin Zoo trainstation is close enough to walk, even with light baggage. Fasanenstrasse is currently blocked off at the northern end due to a major construction site, so the... More

Dear Guest, Thank you very much for taking the time to review us. We are glad to hear that you liked the central location of the Savoy Hotel. With your permission I would like to comment on some points in your review. Just returned from a 2 night stay in this wonderful hotel.lots of character, and spotlessly clean with friendly and helpful staff that couldn't be more obliging. The breakfast buffet is well worth having with lots of choice and variety for the money you pay.The hotel also offers an evening meal deal and certainley worth enquiring about. The Savoy hotel is very... More

Spent 4 night at savoy Berlin. The best part of the Hotel was the Cigar bar. The location is very good, close to Kudamm St. The room service was poor, and the rooms and the beds and pillows are not comfortable. The same goes for the concierge: 3 times i asked for guideline on different issues and everytime it was... More

Dear Guest Thank you very much for taking the time to review our Savoy Hotel Berlin. Great to hear that you liked our central location and the famous Times Bar! The more concerned we are that not everything was to your fullest satisfaction while you stayed with us. Our Savoy Hotel was opened in 1929 and our team is constantly... More

We have used this hotel in the past and since the refurbishment it is even more comfortable. It is always preferable to stay in a smaller establishment where one is recognized and acknowledged, rather than an impersonal monster. The situation is excellent from where to explore this wonderful city. The only downside was breakfast, where at 9.00 the hot food... More

This hotel is positioned in a nice part of Berlin near to shops bars and tour bus stops. Staff at the hotel are very helpful and attend to all your needs. The rooms are adequate and large, however they could do with a bit of updating, especially the bathrooms. Breakfast is excellent although a little expensive at around 20 euros... More

The hotel is situated in a pleasant setting within a good area close to clubs and restaurants and shops. The rooms are spacious clean and well appointed. The breakfast buffet is to die for. They have everything including salmon and even champagne.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
