I stayed here for 6 nights during August 2015. This is a small hotel located on the 3rd floor of a building in the middle of the Schonenberg area of Berlin. It is very near shopping, an underground station and many bars and restaurants. The area seemed quiet, my room looked out on a court yard. Staff is friendly and... More

Overall I enjoyed my stay at ArtHotel. The room was good, clean and adequate for a 6 night stay. A few things marred it though. There was no aircon or fly screens on windows which meant I suffered in the Berlin summer heat. No fridge in the room meant I couldn't keep water cold either. It could do with some... More

The price-quality balance isn't good. Too much money for little quality. Very small room and bed, warm, not clean, bed not properly made up. The hotel has four stars, but where these stars stand for is not clear. It is just an average hotel without a pleasant atmosphere.

I enjoyed every day here.Very freinly staff .Very clean .I had good breakfast. Ithink it's a very good and nice hotel to stay in. Would come back gladly. (wwould be nice if they had smoking rooms as well...not every body had stopped their bad habbits)

Great location, comfortable clean rooms, basic but good breakfast. Friendly staff, with great recommendations for local dining. Blackout blinds or curtains was the only thing missed, but this seems missing in a lot of properties in berlin

Myself and my partner and some friends stayed here last week (June 2015) and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The directions on the hotel website were perfect and it isn't too far from the airport. We arrived early in the morning but even so our room was already prepared. The double room was huge - lovely comfortable bed, very clean... More

Art Hotel is reasonably priced. Our room was large, light, quiet, and clean. Staff was friendly, caring and responsive. Breakfast was fine with diverse buffet with individually-prepared eggs, but it could have used some sweet pastries in this city of excellent baked goods. Since there is no lobby, only opportunity to meet other guests might be at breakfast. But....three floors... More

This small hotel on the 3rd floor of a classic building in Berlin. The rooms are huge with high ceilings and nice furnishings. The bathroom is smallish, but clean. The staff is excellent. They're really very nice and helpful. The tv is all German, but the WIFI works great to connect and see all your shows.

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighborhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the center of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the center of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
