After a shaky start at Schoenfeld Airport (engineering works so trains were all cancelled!!) I got to the hotel via cab (€40). It is set in a beautiful old apartment building on the 3rd floor. The old gated lift is a real feature!! I was greeted and shown to my room (18) which was beautifully decorated with a mix of... More

Initially difficult to find as its on the 3rd floor alongside another prominent business, but some of that was with emails sent to the wrong place and arriving in the dark. Rooms very clean and beds comfortable. The staff where excellent and helpful speaking English and nothing was to much a problem. Breakfast was more than enough to set you... More

Have stayed in Berlin quite a few times before but this hidden gem will be worth a return. Greeted warmly by our host the room we were shown was really beautiful with large scale windows, high ceilings and great views. Didn't try the breakfast (which, unusually, is served from early to 4pm) but it seemed to be well supported by... More

I arrived without having a booking for one night but ended up staying 4 nights. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and made me feel at home. There room was beautiful and so central to the bars and clubs.

Lovely hotel. So pleased I chose here as opposed to a stuffy generic chain. The building was stunning, the elevator alone I wanted to steal and run away with on the plane somehow. My room was bright, big, comfortable and spotless. Excellent location on a leafy street. Accessible for all the sites if being touristy and so central if doing... More

I always stay in this wonderful place if I can. For the past 5 years I have been coming to Berlin 3 or 4 times each year. Sometimes I could not get into this hotel because I left it too late to book. I have not yet found a hotel comparable to this one in Berlin. The guys are great... More

The rooms were pretty nice and stylish and mine had a balcony. I actually got upgraded.Staff were very friendly and welcoming. It is located in the gay street in Berlin close to all the bars and also close to the subway station.

Great hotel with a nice personal touch. Large rooms of solid material, not the prefabricated walls that most of todays hotels have. Helpful personal, very clean rooms, and this hotel has the best elevators of the hundred or so hotels in Berlin that I have stayed in so far. Only 5 min. to walk to Wittenbergplatz where there is a... More

We had a Fuggerstrasse view room and could overlook the street fair below. The hosts were friendly and helpful and the room was really beautiful with high ceilings and a comfy bed. It was very clean and close to everything. This hotel is on a higher floor in a multi-use building. Very close to many cafes and shopping as well... More

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighborhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the center of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the center of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
