I stayed for one week in Grimm's with the family and I really appreciated the hotel in whole. The female staff is particulary helpful and caring and they really interact with the client with the aim of providing the best service and clear information. I booked an apartment: modern, big and full of light. Tidy and with a good sleep... More

We were there for couple of days. Room was nice and clean. However, this was completely spoilt by a very rude and unfriendly male staff at the reception who was obviously keen to go home or too tired at the end of his night shift.

The rooms are beautiful. My main reason for writing this review is because of the amazing staff, specifically Emina, who went out of her way to help my family tour the city. As a person who works in the service industry, I know that what she did for us went above and beyond. Emina represents excellence in customer service. I... More

I stayed in this hotel twice this fall, the location is a bit off, so the room prices are moderate, there is a short walk to bus stops and U- bahn. The rooms are spotless and the hotel staff helpful, the streets nearby are residential area or offices. Opposite of the hotel there is a pizza place, World of Pizza.... More

very well placed, lovely clean hotel easy to get to from the subway .only things that fall short are the fact they give you a small bottle of water on arrival and if you buy any more from the hotel they charge four euro? unfortunately the hotel does not have tea or coffee making facilities

A nice change from the chain hotels. The rooms are all designed in different motifs based on the tales of the Grimm Brothers. Very clean and comfortable rooms . Excellent shower facilities. In easy walking distance to the U Bahn.

We stayed there as a couple for one night and enjoyed the modern design, the friendliness of the staff, the quiet but very accessible location and the good breakfast. We were touched by the fact that the hotel stands today where 25 years ago the Wall was running along and that one can see this in the pavement on the... More

Stayed at the hotel during my marathon weekend with my 2 children, mum, husband and dog. We stayed in a 2 bed apartment. The accommodation was lovely. Great big space, clean and quiet. Great location, 7 min walk to U Bahn and on good line. Lovely area, with choices of restaurants and bakeries near by. I would recommend this hotel... More

A hotel.delightful hotel run by a small team of capable and helpful staff. It is well located and could be even better if they accepted some basic suggestions. Since the development of wifi hotels generally provide the service free of charge, but NOT here, it is very last century to charge. They provide water for drinking but only on the... More

We have returned as the hotel offers a central, but quiet location. Very tastefully decorated rooms and very good value for money. Staff is very helpful. Will return. Location: 5 min from subway (easy access to rest of Berlin , 10-15min walk from Gendarmenmarkt, the hotel is very central, but in a very quite street, right where the Wall stood.... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
