Helpful staff, very clean room, large bathroom and shower. Having booked a Deluxe Double room, we expected something large as the 24 m2 advertised. Very quiet location (room very quiet despite facing the street) 4-5 minutes by feet from the U2 Subway station of Spittelmarkt and some bus stations. The hotel is located in the middle of a new residential... More

There is a new Grimms Hotel in Berlin, larger than the one in Alte Jakobstrasse, with the same themes fairytale ambience. Cute and interesting - all the rooms have murals of fairy-tales, and the bar area is populated by frog princes, cats holding up lamps and a pic with a coffee table on its back. The hotel has only been... More

We stayed for 4 night. (A familiy of 5 - three teenage daughters.) We had a large appartment, great interior design, nice furniture - Eames chairs etc. Very nice balcony. The cleaning was spotless. Great breakfast with a varity of fruit, salad and of course the usual diary products, rolls etc. The downside: I suppose the location is usually nice... More

Our family of 5 rented a 2-bedroom apartment for 4 nights. The apartment was very comfortable, large and pleasantly furnished. The kitchen was well equipped and it was great to have a dining table that we could all fit around. The beds were comfortable, the shower had good pressure and the apartment was very clean. The outside balcony was a... More

Having stayed in 7 European cities within a week this was one of the best. The bedroom & bathroom was a good size with modern decor. Free parking was available nearby & it was only a short stroll to the city centre. Good value for the central location.

We spent 4 nights in a great 2 bedroom apartment on the fourth floor. A well designed, nicely appointed space with lots of natural light. Plenty of room; the only downside I found is that the second bedroom is not big enough for two. The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful, with less than a 5 minute walk to the U-bahn.

Very clean room and space was nicely furnished with new items. Linens, towels, curtains all seemed new. Generally nice stay and in line with what we should have expected for what we paid for the room. BUT We did not have success with using wifi in our hotel room and the nighttime staff were particularly not helpful during out stay.... More

We really enjoyed our stay here the location was good and reasonably quiet yet only 10 minutes on foot to checkpoint Charlie and within walking distance of many of the attractions. The room was very clean and comfortable with an excellent shower and good bed. A big thank you to Christine who helped us book bus tickets for our onward... More

Hotel was immaculate, very clean and new. Our room was simple and modern with everything you need. Not huge but more than enough for a short stay. No problems with noise or anything like that, we slept well and the room is climate controlled so very comfortable. Location is good; 5 minute walk to Spittelmarkt tube station and about a... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
