Nice place on the West Side to spend a few days without spending a bajillon €€€€. Attractive building with interesting history with ties to photographer Helmut Newton and once serving as home to the Nazi Ministry of Culture. The neighborhood is not the most exciting spot in town - and the surrounding area is a little bit on the bourgie... More

I stayed at the Bogota for almost a week on my first ever trip to Berlin and I can say that I will be returning and I have recommended to friends and family. Even though its historic aging structure it is very well maintained, rooms are clean and comfortable, the meals were both good in taste and quantity. The location... More

Great location near Ku'damm with very accommodating staff. We needed a room with only a shower and a flat entrance (no steps). Emails ahead of time sorted this out and we were greeted by name and well-assisted throughout our stay. Clean well-kept room and more than ample German breakfast.

Looks grander from the outside than inside but the hotel has character. It's main theme is photography with an excellent gallery. My room was a large double and had a good bed but small bathroom. No desk but free wi-fi, laptop used on coffee table. Breakfast was fine in one of two large plain rooms decorated with more excellent photographs,... More

First impressions of the room were that things needed some updating! I guess that this may be a similar experience for many first time guests at Bogota. However, during our 3 night stay we grew to love this place! It is steeped in history. It was originally swanky apartments for the high society of Berlin, then it became the HQ... More

Stayed there for one night. Very clean sheets and bathroom, but its a bit warn out. The location is excellent for high street shopping. All the major brands like Prada, Gucci, Bvulgari, Cartier, ... is right around the corner. The breakfast was included in my rate (74€ for a single room with shower) and had a nice selection. So basically... More

I stayed at this hotel for the ITB-Berlin in March 2013 for 3 days. The hotel had a very old fashioned, historic vibe to it, like a hotel you would see in an 80's movie. However the room and the bathroom was clean the room was spacious enough. There was no TV, but that is something not important to me... More

This hotel was used by the Nazi's Propaganda Ministry during WWII. Even though the use was for the war, the building's aura is reminiscent of "the good old days". It's a very beautiful 4-story building with lots of wood. The breakfast was very good and was included in the price of the room. It was close to bus lines that... More

Amazing old hotel in a funky trendy area of designer shops, café and bars. Great restaurants around. Easy reach to the U-ban, S-bahn and trams. Staff are lovely and friendly. My first time in Berlin and I would happily stay there again. Made my first time comfortable and relaxed.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
