Great hotel, friendly staff. Perfect location for exploring Berlin. Couples of minutes walk to Berlin Wall 2 stops on the U away from friedrichstrabe train station and 2 stops on train to Alexanderplatz short distance from Brandenburg gate and checkpoint charlie as well. Really enjoyed Berlin and tryp is in a great location for first time visitors like ourself. Would... More

We stayed at this hotel from 17-20 April in a group of 4. The hotel provided an excellent base for exploring Berlin, with most of the must-see sites within walking distance. However there is also a U-Bahn station local to the hotel. The public transport system is good value, and provides excellent coverage throughout the city. We had 2 rooms... More

I spent 5 days in January. The hotel was nice, great food, friendly staff except the breakfast Lady, who was rude as I did not sit at the table she thought I should. Internet was also poor, not for work. It was really annoying asking for codes all the time. 1st floor was noisy, could not sleep properly. I would... More

Good location, just outside the tube station that is two stops from Mitte. Rooms are modern and clean. On the front of the hotel they can be noisy in the morning from the traffic. Staff were helpful and able to provide tips for our stay in berlin.

The four of us took a taxi from Tegel Airport to Berlin Tryp Mitte which cost €27 (on the meter) during Friday rush hour. On the return journey the taxi driver was much more honest and took us the direct route instead of showing us "the sights", which cost less than €18. This is a very modern business hotel slightly... Stayed here for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. The breakfasts were wonderful, there are helpful, multilingual staff and the hotel itself is stylish and very modern and clean. We travelled from Tegel airport on the 128 bus to the Kurt Schumacher Platz U-Bahn station on the U6 line (which did not like our credit cards, so use cash... More

We stayed in Tryp Berlin Mitte durin easter 2015. Customer service was excellent and the room was best I've ever stayed in. Breakfast was rich but a bit expensive. Hotel was located just next to an U-bahn station and it was very easy to go different places. I would deffinitely go again!!

Stayed here for 5 nights and was very happy with the experience. The hotel is very modern and clean and the staff are very helpful. This hotel is in a great location, right near the U6 U-Bahn which gives you easy access to the city. The room was very clean, the bathroom was very modern and stylish - I would... More

I was accorded a welcome by the hotels GM Bastian Becker. The front desk was super welcoming and wonderful too! Rooms have a cheerful and modern decor. The beds are comfortable. The fitness centre is handy. The location of this hotel is walking distance from Brandenburg gate, checkpoint charle and the historical areas of Berlin. The breakfast spread was great... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
