This hotel was in a prime location. I was so close to about a million retail stores, I didn't even know what to do with myself... The breakfast buffet was excellent, and there were a lot of organic options on the menu. I was uber surprised to see a lot of juices/smoothies available and was really blown away by the... More

I stayed here in March 2015 with my wife during a weekend visit to Berlin. The hotel is super - great staircase in the middle and the hotel is designed around an Atrium which is very impressive. Super rooms and everything was spotless as you would expect in a hotel of this class. Concierge Desk was very helpful with everything.... More

Me and my boyfriend stayed here last weekend of February and we were both excited to stay at the Westin. However it all went wrong from the beginning. The girl at the front desk was so unfriendly, barely looked at us and it felt that they just wanted to get rid of us. The night before checking out I needed... More

Walking distance from many attractions - Checkpoint Charlie, Brandenburg Gate etc. Very nice hotel room and lobby. The toilet water smelled very bad for some reason although the washroom was clean. Free wifi in lobby but not in the room.

The Westin Grand Berlin sits at the junction of Unter den Linden and Friedrichstraße. It is a very good location for those wishing to be close to the high street shopping of Berlin, government offices and restaurants in the area. The U6 Französische Straße stop is located right at the footstep of the hotel. The Friedrichstraße and Stadtmitte hubs are... More

We stayed at The Westin during the christmas period and left just before christmas. But we wished to have stayed longer as we loved it so much. It is more expensive than other hotels that we have stayed with, but it's worth the price. It's extremely cosy and comfortable, the staff were so helpful. The concierge helped with my numerous... The Westin Grand Berlin is located at the centre of the Berlin city, surrounded with a lot of shops, restaurants and also train stations. It is very convenient for whenever we need to go out. We could go shopping, have some food and go sightseeing around the city really easily. We stayed there for 2 nights 3 days, our room... More

Nice hotel. We liked the concierce, otherwice did not use much services. We would have liked free wifi in rooms though. Rooms were spacy enough. We liked the green option not to take daily room cleaning and opportunity to donate 5€ instead to charity

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
