It was our first trip to Berlin and we chose to stay at the Westin Grand due to the reviews that we had read. We fell in love with this hotel and the location for the Genderman Chriwstmas market was excellent. It is within walking distance to all the major landmarks. The breakfast was also very substantial and the service... More

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at this lovely hotel, It is very well located for many of the Berlin sights and has a wealth of good restaurants close by and excellent shopping very close too. The staff were welcoming and check in and out was efficient and quick. The rooms vary in size as in most... More

Wonderful hotel. The concierge was very helpful with directions, reservations, etc. Can't beat the location and the service. With in walking distance to the major attractions and the best local places to eat in the city. Highly recommend it.

The relaxed and spacious theme of Berlin city is continued indoors in The Westin Grand. On entering the foyer, the grand staircase is impressive as is the atrium with the stain glassed dome. The decor is dark in keeping with a business centre - not to our holiday taste. Staff, especially the Concierge are very helpful. Bedrooms are comfortable -... More

The hotel was beautiful, we went at Christmas and the chandelier was stunning. The rooms are a good size, modern and quiet. Wi fi is unfortunately only free in the lobby which is a shame for a hotel of this standard. Great location.

As the title states some great service, especially the concierge and front desk. The food was good and the drinks ok for the price. Location is central geographically and rooms are comfortable. We were recommended a garden room as the front rooms can get noises in the morning due to the theatre set ups

We arrived early but but the suite was ready so we could enjoy the suite immediately. It had a nice view to the garden, and was very quiet. The furniture is elegant and the bed king size. The staff are always polite, they recognize us as regular guests and can always recommend a good restaurant or bar. The hotel has... More

Great and professional service The room was clean and the bed was comfortable as expected from a Westin. My main criticism is the wifi. In room wifi is extremely expensive and the lobby based free wifi is insanely slow. Free wifi is a recommendation to the management, Its 2015, wifi really isn't considered to be a premium service anymore

This was a nice hotel in a great location to sightsee in Berlin. Near to the Brandenburg gate, Christmas markets, the Reichstag and shopping. Attended a conference there and facilities were also good.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
