My husband and I just spent a week of sightseeing in Berlin after river cruising on the Danube. Berlin is a great city and we enjoyed learning about its history and the museums. We were glad that we have chosen The Regent for our trip. The room was big and very comfortable, the staff are warm and pleasant and services... More

Went for relaxing christmas break. Not a relaxing hotel, stuffy and a tad pretentious. But all os exquisite in terms of aestethichs and comfort. Pushy masseuse, wanted to transform my habits, whereas I wanted a relaxing massage. Decent value for money, good location, but staff is unattentive, abit clumsy and stiff.

The hotel is exceptionally well located in the center of Berlin, within walking distance to many important attractions. The facilities are also excellent. The food was good, but just so. The service experience was mixed. While the front desk staff were quite good, as we found to be the case in many of the restaurants we visited in Germany, the... More

A fabulous experience in a fabulous city. We decided to splurge on a suite to end our Central Europe vacation and it was well worth it. This is a great hotel with all the five star amenities. Not a single, even tiny thing to criticize. Wonderful location, quiet, large room, comfortable bed. A first rate breakfast as well. All hotel... More

We have stayed in Hotels all over the world, Many claiming to be 5 star. The Regent in Berlin is one Hotel that can proudly make that claim. From the meal service to the standard of the room that we stayed in for four days recently. The bathroom has "walk in Shower", this is what ALL bathrooms should have. It... More

We were booked by a travel agent and viewed the photographs the night prior to our arrival. Must say that the pictures did not seem like a place we would choose ourselves. The reviews did not help either. However, upon arrival today, we were wonderfully impressed with the lobby, high tea area, outside Verve Cliquot café, bar an Michelin restaurant... More

We spent 4 lovely nights here this past rainy June. The hotel is a classic ... if you want hip and modern, go someplace else. But for simple elegance done right this is the place. Great bathroom, with nice products and an excellent hair dryer. The concierge made excellent recommendations for lunch and dinner around Berlin. Loved the location too... More

Breakfast, so many healthy choices, great mueslis, fruits, seeds, yoghurts and a hot breakfast with the most perfect eggs cooked any way you ask. Our room, a deluxe double was luxurious and spacious enough to feel comfortable and be able to move around. Location is perfect: the best location in Berlin for the major sights. Staff are so helpful, friendly,... More

We spent three nights taking interconnecting rooms on the 4th floor. Impressive quality products in rooms, the beds were outstandingly comfortable and the rooms very spacious. 4th floor was very quiet.

Lovely room with every amenity. I loved the bathroom. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was delicious. The hotel is in a great location but we found it difficult to find our way around to start with. Get a good map and advice from the hotel. (We got Museum passes but found that not all the museums accept... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
