We booked a superior room having read the reviews (this is their cheapest) and it was fabulous - spacious, beautifully furnished, quiet on the top floor with a large bathroom with a large tub and separate shower and separate toilet. The toiletries are L'Occitane - very nice and plentiful replenishing. There is a kettle in the room and tea bags... More

Fabulous hotel. We stayed here for four nights to explore Berlin and the Christmas markets. At €200 per night (room only), some might think this expensive, but the superb quality of the product justifies the price. Clean well-serviced rooms, charming service in all areas of the hotel, centrally placed in Berlin. Arrival and check-in were faultless. We really could not... More

A very well located hotel with all the pleasantries and a fine Concierge. The cuisine in the restaurants in the hotel was outstanding, some of the best in the City. Lots of other good places walking distance. Multiple museums to view in the neighborhood.

Very nice and comfortable hotel. Everything was of a high standard. Rooms were large and very well appointed. Excellent choice at breakfast and a minor problem we had with the food and beverage service was resolved very quickly and effectively by the management. Great location for sightseeing, shops and Christmas markets. We used the hop on/hop off bus which stops... More

I'd read all the Tripadvisor reviews before booking here, of course, but it was so much nicer than I expected. Service was exceptional, from the moment we checked in and were greeted at reception, to the bartenders in the very cozy bar every night, to the gentleman who took care of me at the formal afternoon tea. Every member of... More

Impressive looking entrance with classic decoration gives a feeling of opulence as you walk in. Reception was very friendly, no queues and we were given an upgrade at a reduced cost which you can book online beforehand (subject to availability). I had a requested a quiet room at the back which they gave us (516) and have to say it... More

In simple terms; stay here! A lovely hotel with highly professional staff and a lovely atmosphere. You are treated beautifully, with an ideal balance of respected customer and friendly conversation. The rooms are great (we stayed in a standard # 506), the communal areas lovely and the whole ambience is top class. Concierge service was very helpful and breakfast staff... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
