We were here for a long weekend, as part of a group. Every aspect of the hotel was exceptional. The service at all levels was courteous, unobtrusive and efficiently accurate. While I was in the gym, feeling the pace on an exercise bike, a staff member carried out a routine check of the gym. Before she left, and without a... More

My husband booked the Regent as my birthday surprise and we have just returned after a weekend stay. We took a taxi from the airport which cost €21. The hotel is well situated to a few iconic attractions, nice restaurants and shops. A traditional hotel, gleaming everywhere. Our bedroom was spotless and the bathroom was very spacious with lots of... More

What a fabulous hotel in an excellent location next to the Gendarmenmark in the Mitte section of Berlin. Attentive staff took care of our every need and made our experience like a home away from home. The summer outdoor patio lounge was a great place to relax after a day out touring Berlin. Fischer Fritz food was so tasty for... More

We were in Berlin for a few days before the New Years and booked this hotel through Hotels.com. It was fabulous, great location and friendly front desk. Loved Michael in the bar, he is English and helped us with our German.

We stayed for three nights with our 6 year old son, in one room. We could not have been happier. The manager welcomed our son (added at the last minute) at no additional charge and there were many age-appropriate gifts in the room, too. We were astonished. Very nice. In addition, the hotel only charged half-price for his breakfasts (eats... More

Booked Regent hotel in November for 3 nights over New Year with booking.com and thought was paying full cost at check out. 17 Dec the hotel had a pending transaction £425 on my account - leaving me short for Xmas gifts. At check out charged full amount. I questioned this money but they said it wasn't paid and booking.com took... More

This almost perfect hotel failed to fix the heating problem of the room but offered an electric heater in the shower instead. Great dissappointment compared to the price paid and services offered !!! But has a great potential

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
