8 years since last time, and everything was as I remembered it. Nice rooms, good beds, friendly service. It is increadibly quiet at night, you cannot believe that you are in the center of a big city. Breakfast is not fantastic, so you can go to a cafe instead.

Have visited this hotel few times, mainly because, it is not a normal faceless big hotel - The owner is very comitted to his daily work and likes to have a chat with you when you check in. The atmosphere is like coming home. You can take a beer from the fridge, make a note of it to the list... More

We had yet another wonderful stay at Hotel Art Nouveau earlier this month. It is our fourth in ten years, and each visit was great. Hotel Art Nouveau has a good location in Charlottenburg, close to both the S-Bahn and U-Bahn. There are excellent restaurants in the area, and the rooms are very nice. Still, it is the personal touches... More

We always remembered the Art Nouveau from our visit to Berlin 8 years ago so we had to stay there again. Gert and Christine were marvellous hosts and still are. Would you believe they were able to get us opening night seats for the Berlin Philomonic both visits. We had the Yellow Room both times, plenty of space and comfort... More

Excellent location for tourist sites (and in a good residential area), walking distance to Tiergarten, Charlottenburg Schloss and easy to get overground train to centre of Berlin (5 stops). This is a 3 star hotel so don't expect a flashy reception area - the guy is just great and friendly. As to art nouveau the rooms have some style but... More

Very enjoyable stay and friendly staff. Good value for money, comfortable and much more interesting than a big chain hotel. One recommendation would be to provide some courtesy toiletries in room - shampoo, toothpaste and shower gel would have been great.

My husband and I just spent 4 days here and really loved the gentle ambience of this place. It is a hotel that is almost like a home. The hosts very generously allow guests to help themselves to drinks, coffee, snacks etc... In an honor system. We loved the quiet room with comfortable beds, well appointed bathroom and fabulous location.... More

We did like the hotel and the staff. They helped us and even put us in contact with a local guide service. (University's offer those guides for little money-becomes very handy if you want to see the real Berlin) The rooms were clean. The staff stands out. Friendly and helpful. Sometimes (at check in/out) they get a bit busy. Very... More

Fill yourself as at home in the proper region of West Berlin five minutes walk from Q-damm. Very affable owners, lovely decorated rooms with extremely high ceilings, good enough breakfasts and delicious restaurant Leibniz Klause across the street. Self-service bar with selection of drinks. Most of the rooms looks in the quiet yard.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect when arriving at the hotel - it has no street frontage at all, and you merely walk into a building through its common door then take an old and fragile seeming slow elevator or stairs (92 of them in total) up to their fifth floor location, then have to buzz to be admitted... Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
