This hotel is situated on the 1st floor within a large building which also comprises of private apartments. There is also a bar situated underneath the hotel and noise could be an issue in certain rooms. I was in room 12 which was rectory above the bar. The location is good for transport links. The room itself is a bit... More

I have chosen this pension (NOT hotel), ex 3 stars, for the super location (Friedrichshain) but also for the good offered price. If you book directly through the official website, you can get a better price but there are some wrong information. First of all, it does not exist the breakfast (false information)!!! Inside an old building on the first... More

The location of this hotel was perfect and there were a lot of areas that were walking distance from us, plus the price was pretty amazing. The thing is, this showed with how clean it was. We didn't expect such a bargain to be a palace (of course) but cleaning isn't exactly hard. When making the booking it was said... More

Agggh, 3 days in a row of interrupted sleep. I booked a single room which was what I got. It had everything as stated in the advertising but it also had the extractor fan/duct from a nearby resturant which ran directly along the ceiling of my room. It hummed all day and most of the night. It would stop at... More

A converted first floor of bedrooms in one of the enormous post-WW2 blocks of flats along Frankfurter Allee and on the U5 U-Bahn line, this place has serious shortcomings. The reception, which is several doors up the street is only open a few hours a day - beware! We met would-be customers who arrived late and couldn't get any response... More

This hotel is in one of the best areas in Berlin. Very close to the city centre. Many bars and restaurants around open till late. Our weekend trip was mainly to experience night life in Berlin. All best clubs and bars is around that area. Room was spacious and clean. We loved our stay until the last minute. Would recommend!

This hotel is situated between two metro stops along the U5 Metro. This line connects with the Alexanderplatz which then you can open up to more options in Berlin. It's still a bit far out there and I didn't really see a whole lot in the area. It's also just one stop away from the S41/2 for the Circle line... More

Pension Bolgerini is a friendly hotel in Eastern Berlin which is a good port for a single traveller. Affordable and very close to the modern city centre, Bolgerini is a fairly old-fashioned Eastern inn. I spent most of my weekend in the German capital sightseeing with a few hours respite, but started my day with a warm (if slightly awkward... More

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighborhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
