I've noticed that the wifi on the street opposite of the office is very weak, so i request to stay on the same side of the office. the staff is friendly. its more... More

We stay at Pension Marie whenever we're in Berlin. We're grateful for the affordable prices and the excellent location in wonderful Prenzlauer Berg, not far from the Schonhauser Allee station. The rooms are very simple, and scattered within several buildings not far from reception. Important to note that reception is only open during certain hours, but it's possible to make... More

Room had obviously not been cleaned for a very long time! Black mold, animal hairs, dust, cobwebs, dirty dishes, dirty cupboards... yuck. I ended up spending money on cleaning products and my friends helped out to make it livable. Also wifi and mobile network virtually nonexistent. Nein!

The room is small and a bit basic, but clean as was the bathroom. There was no soap for the shower. There isn't any further service than the room. It's well positioned for exploring the city, not so far from the historical points of interests and close to the bus stop, and S bahn. The reception is not active during... More

On the whole the pension was OK for the money, clean and in a good neighbourhood, free WiFi, coffee machine and fridge in room (buy your own coffee). The room was quite shabby and old fashioned but I can live with that for the price. I was not told about the kitchen on arrival and it is only now that... More

Close to Ubahn - friendly and helpful staff - but rather dark and slighty damp room - no cleaning for the 4 nights,we stayed there. Clean towels every second day ! Shared kitchen was OK !

Stayed here for 3 nights in January. Location is excellent. Not to far to the Sbahn Room and bathroom were basic but clean. Rooms were secure. Would without doubt stay here again. If you are looking to come to Berlin for a long weekend, this is a very good option. Give it a go.

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
