Came back yesterday-12/08/13. Fantastic location right next to station, metro and bus (obviously noisy because of this but you shouldn't expect it to be quiet if you're in such a central location)! We stayed in a top floor apartment which had a huge double bed and a single, large bathroom with hairdryer, kitchen with two ring hob and fridge, plenty... More

Fab location and really clean, rooms a little cramped but suited our needs fine. Lacks a communal area but we just put our chairs out in the corridor and made friends! The kitchen only had a microwave, no oven or hob so was only useful for breakfast really. Surcharges for washing machine and Internet. Really nice Japanese restaurant next door,... More

The apartment was wonderful. We stayed for three nights and had almost everything we needed. Public transportation is just a few minutes away making it easier to get around. Parking was nearby as well at a great price. The apartment could use a microwave, but other than that, I have no complaints. Great view too.

Well on arrival to the apartment I thought great location. However on entering the apartment I though quite nice, but no microwave, no iron, one old tv, one flat screen tv, both of which only showed German stations. On our last day we were meant to be out by 12 noon, however at 11.00am the cleaner walk straight into our... More

I was very impressed by this accomodation. I stayed in a 4 bed dorm, but only shared with one other female. The hostel is located directly opposite the Alexanderplatz train station, and walking distance to many tourist sites. The airport bus stops directly out the front of the hostel which was very handy. The room was a decent size and... More

I reserved an apartment for September. The price was quite high, but the excuse of that it was the Berlin Marathon and all hotels in Berlin were fully booked. Moreover I was told that I'd to pay the apartment in cash, which I found quite strange, since we were talking about a large amount of money, and that is a... More

Booked 1 apartment, two rooms (http://www.alexanderplatz-apartments.com/zwei.php) in advance, 4 adults and one child. Purpose was to have an apartment *quiet* and central in September. Something feasible in an old building, as long as refurbishing is of quality. Of course, we are speaking of Alexander Platz. But with good windows and walls noise cancellation is possible. Their site has nothing to... More

I stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. You cannot get a better location - opposite alexanderplatz train station and a bus stop directly out the front with an express service to tegel airport. If you are looking for a central location close to all the main attractions and plenty of restaurants nearby stay here!! I would be careful... More

Very centrally located to Alexanderplatz Metro, so very easy to find on arrival. Check-in was between 1500 and 2000, but on request, we were checked in at 1300. As these are privately owned apartments, there is no reception area, so communication is all that is needed to ensure no misunderstandings are made. Our room was an absolute delight. Big, spacious,... More

Had a wonderful time in the spacious, super central apartment with direct views of the famous Alexanderplatz and the TV Tower. The perfect location to start his day trips. All major attractions are within walking distance. Supermarkets, restaurants, bars, clubs, shops all in close in walking distance. And noise, which frequently has been mentioned is solved by the double window.....

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
