A great hotel if you're interested in historical sight-seeing - museums and other places of interest are within easy reach and the hotel is very close to a U-bahn station. Clean, simple rooms. Helpful staff. Only problem: There is currently a building site right opposite, making quite a bit of noise early in the morning.

We stayed here for 6 nights and it is a relatively modest hotel with excellent staff and service. The location is outstsnding. Rooms have nice big beds, no joins! But they do lack tea making facilities, and good hanging space. However this is more than made up for by the young, attentive staff who have a great attitude. When we... More

This was our first visit to Berlin and couldn't believe how easy it was to find hotel from the airport using public transport. Bought a three day travel pass, great value for money and made getting around so simple. Used bus, train, tram and underground - not to get to hotel but for just getting around in general. We didn't... More

We spent two nights at this hotel. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean ... Appreciated the bed with one big mattress instead of having to deal with the "crack" ... The breakfast had a great selection and all tasted good. Also the fact that football was shown in the bar helped with staying updated on UEFA events... More

We booked this hotel after looking at reviews on this site and weren't disappointed, the hotel is literally smack bang in the middle of Berlin. The room was clean and comfortable, not too many frills but we were never after frills! The area was lovely and quiet although still very close to transport links and places to eat etc. oh... More

Rooms are hip and modern, everything you need is presented in an original manner. Decor is quirky and boutique-esque type. Staff is great, friendly and helpful, all speak perfect spanish (chain is from Barcelona). Right next to check point charlie. Don't recommend breakfast though, around 14 euros and it's very plain. For half the price you can get a better... More

Nice contemporary style hotel. Value for your money. Friendly service. Good breakfast. Good central location, although not much interesting near. (only the remains of the Checkpoint Charlie) The hotel rents bicycles and the city is great for cycling!

This is a very quirky hotel with all you need for a few days in Berlin. It is handy for most things of interest and the journey from the airport couldn't have been easier. The room was quite warm and we never did find the AC so opened the windows. We want to revisit Berlin and this hotel will be... More

We stayed here during the christmas markets 2014 and found the hotel to be a great location, clean and generally great hotel. Close to the U-Bahn station, perfect location for exploring the city. We payed around £60 per night which at that time of year was great value. We took our own travel kettle knowing that there were no coffee... More

We spent 3 nights here, and it was great. Rooms are clean, comfortable & quiet. The breakfast buffet is excellent. Front desk staff are friendly. Less than 5 minutes walk from the Kochstr subway stop. Only minor complaint is that the beds are on the hard side.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
