An hotel that claims to be modern but does not offer free wifi? Unbelievable! Oh yes you can get an hour for free in the lobby but it is so slow you give up after 5 minutes. When you address the bar woman in english you get "huh?" as an answer: very polite i must say. And then she needs... More

We stayed at this hotel for two nights to visit the Christmas Markets. It was ok clean and the beds and bedding were excellent. However no vanity packs in the room ie no shower cap, when we mentioned it in leaving they said oh we keep them at reception. How we were supposed to know that goodness only knows. No... More

The staff is not really set up to meet an American expectation for customer service. There is little concern for the comfort of well-being of the guest and in some cases outright hostility that you're even making a request of them (like could I have a teapot of hot water or a kettle for the room). The room itself is... More

Booked this hotel on a recent work trip to Berlin. Had seen it from the outside and it looked quite stylish. The lobby and overall aesthetic is pretty nice, but once in the hallway and room things feel a bit concrete/cold. The room was nice enough, but again a bit cold to me needing some personality. Wifi you need to... More

couldn't believe our luck when we came up at the U-bahn stop to see the hotel directly opposite. After a very early flight also very pleased to be able to check in early. Room was delightful........huge and very clean with a great bathroom.enquired about firmer pillows which while not as firm as we like they were much better and the... More

Really central hotel, write at an underground stop and only 4 stops away from Postdamer Platz (and more importantly, 2 stops away from the chocolate shop!) Really comfy beds but odd set up - double bed with 2 single duvets! Pillows were rubbish though, they definitely need to invest in better pillows. Helpful staff and good bar area. We didn't... More

Good location in front of metro U2 station. Centre of Berlin closed (10 minutes walking). Excellent breakfast. Comfortable, quite and clean rooms with moquette. Nice view from big windows. I got the room with breakfast included for 104 Euro. An excellent value for the price.

We had a good deal which included breakfast and a 4:00pm checkout. The staff were more than helpful in every way including a warm welcome. Breakfast was served until 11:00am in a comfortable dining room. The room was high quality and very soundproofed Location was excellent with all the main tourist areas well within walking distance. This was our first... More

Cool, modern, clean hotel - friendly staff. Quality hotel, super nice deco/design. Stayed just one night - 3 floor in NYC style and spacy Deluxe corner room - with a view to the huge Coca Cola sign. Many sights in walking distance. Great bar in the hotel lobby with an impressive gin selection and very nice breakfast too.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
