The Cosmo is within walking distance of most of the major sights in Berlin - just a 10 minute walk along the canal to Museum Island and a pleasant, interesting walk to the Reichstag. There are two nearby tube stations for easy access to the airport. We had booked a comfort room but were upgraded to a deluxe corner room... More

We were a group of five staying in Berlin for four days. We chose the Cosmo after a friend recommended it to us. Centrally placed for most places of interest. The nearest restaurant (you could eat at the hotel but we prefer to try the local eateries) is Rotisserie Weingrun. Absolutely marvellous. Turn left out of the hotel and walk... More

Spent a long weekend at the Cosmo Hotel Mitte which is within walking distance of the Gendarmenmarkt and the Nikolaiviertel. The Metro station Spittelmarkt is right across the street. Even though it is on a busy road, we didn't hear the traffic at all and slept like babies even though our room was on the second floor. Our room was... More

We recently stayed at the Cosmo Hotel with friends. It was a most enjoyable experience. The hotel staff are uniformly friendly and most helpful. We were given several very good recommendations for local restaurants. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The bar area and restaurant is friendly, with good food and wine.

Following reviews from Tripadvisor, I chose Hotel Cosmo. And it was a very good choice. It's a modern but comfortable hotel, very near the city center (15 minutes walking). By the way, if you can do try to rent bikes at the hotel. Berlin is made for biking. I went with my wife for a 4 day break. At the... More

The location is great - you can reach many places, such as Alexander Platz or lovely Gendarmenmarkt (with lots of restaurants and coffee places) easily by foot. The rooms are modern, of good size and clean. We had a corner room on the fourth floor and the traffice noise (a four lane busy road passes infront of the hotel) was... More

I am Writing this review while I am Staying at the hotel. It is a very nice hotel, rooms are nice, a lot of light, modern and clean! But, the TV in our room (702) is very low (to my waist hight, and I am not a tall person at all) so it it impossible to see it laying on... More

I recently stayed at the COSMO while attending an academic conference at Humboldt University. My room was neat, clean, stylish, and surprisingly spacious for a European hotel. One wall was made up almost entirely of windows, providing plenty of natural light. The staff was friendly, and everyone spoke English well. I had breakfast at the buffet once, and found it... More

My partner and I stayed here at the end of November 2014. This was our second visit to Berlin and the accommodation did not disappoint. On arrival we were welcomed by a friendly receptionist and she was most accommodating. The room we had was a good size, very modern with a good sized shower room and toilet. The hotel is... More

This hotel inside really is beautiful. The minute you step through the door you know that it's a quality hotel. We got it a long time in advance for a really good price. Location wise, it's ok if your fit and mobile which we all were but the distance from main areas may be too far for anyone elderly or... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
