Delicious kebab across the street, (very important haha) nice terrace, the showers are clean and nice, the beds are fairly comfy for the cheap price we paid. The staff is nice, great people there (I was the only non aussie tho haha) they have a bar with fair prices in the hostel itself so that's great. It's not too far... More

Great location, friendly guests, awesome terrace and living space for chilling and hanging out, helpful and friendly staff. It's not the cleanest one I've been in but i totally didn't mind. It's a hostel that suits perfectly Berlin and it's guests. I'd stay there again.

I had read the hype only to be disappointed badly by this hostel. It is located in a vibrant African and Arab neighbourhood, where I was repeatedly offered drugs and my female companion was harrassed in front of me. Arriving at the hostel, the staff were busy on computer , smsing? and treated us rudely. Rooms had uncomfortable beds and... More

Me and two friends spent 4 days here on our first trip to Berlin and we would definitely come again. It has an great homely vibe, and we were very relaxed. The rooms are basic but comfortable, even in 35 degree heat, and the bathrooms clean and functional. There is a cooking area which was great to be able to... More

Not right in the city center but a great area for cheap restaurants and bars. Clean hostel, good vibes, a full kitchen and a really chill common room. Very comfortable, like hanging at a friends place. Reccomend for younger travelers.

This hotel could be a dream or a nightmare depending on your situation so let me first explain my situation then you'll understand if this review applies to you or not. I'm 32 and was travelling with my 29 year old pregnant wife. We like to holiday on the cheap and have stayed in many decent (and bad) hostels over... More

I loved this place, Matt is so kind and interesting! He talked to me a long time and never seemed annoyed or rude. The terrace was very enjoyable, we made great friends who we met later on our trip, the kitchen was great and kept clean all the time. Showers were also clean all the time. They really keep this... Great service - friendly and professional. Really nice atmosphere. Spacious, well set up common areas and large rooms with lockers. Close to a train station, restaurants, ATMs and supermarkets. Really reasonable price. Only downfall was that the wifi didn't reach our dorm room, no big deal as it worked fine in the common rolm.

If you're in Berlin, between 18 and 25 and love a rooftop bar you have to come here. For a Berlin newbie, the staff are really helpful and friendly, and are at the bar 24/7. Pretty good for meeting new people, well situated... About half an hours walk from the big clubs and bars, similar distance to centre ie reichstag... More

When my friends and I first arrived we got a bit of the shock as the area seemed a bit dodgy. However, our tune soon changed. It's in a very hip area that is very multicultural. The U bahn is literally metres away. The hostel itself is super clean with a great atmosphere. I would highly recommended it for 18-30... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
