We stayed at the hostel for 2 nights. It is very charming and fun. I love the different styles of rooms :) Rock music in the bar/restaurant at all times. Vegan friendly food but a bit difficult if you have gluten allergies. Nice and quiet after 10 pm. We had a double room and it was nice and large. Friendly... More

Stayed here for 7 nights, amazing friendly staff, our room was great, good size for two people and the bed was really comfy. Breakfast was a really high standard with meat, veggie and vegan options available. We had curry wurst here too which again really tasty and was available in vegan or meat. 15 min walk to the station with... More

The rock and roll is a bar in Berlin I always visit when I'm in town. If you like rock and a good night of drinks. It isn't the most upmarket of berlin a bars so go with an open mind. Staff speak English if you struggle with German but at least try as you will then be spoken to... More

Just come back from a stay at the rock n roll and the beds are rubbish had back and neck pain, friend also had the same issues, it feels grubby and it's going for a chic hotel feel which doesn't work, most of the staff are friendly and it has free wi-fi and excellent breakfast but not worth the money

We loved this place. The location was great, close to the U-bahn and close to the heart of Kreuzberg. The breakfast is amazing, and 4€ off for guests, that fact that it's served from 10-2pm is even better, what else can you ask for in such a party city (maybe until 3pm?). Friendly & efficient staff. Very clean rooms. Shared... More

This is a great little budget hostel - cheap and cheerful and in a brilliant location. A big group of us stayed there in May - we'd booked all the bedrooms in the hostel (about 7 in total over 2 floors) so it was just perfect for us. I shared a room which had bunk beds and a little balcony... More

When we visit Berlin we always stay in this hostel. The best price for a hostel you can find in Berlin! Situated in a very cool neighbourhoud, very close to the metro station! The staff is really friendly and it's awesome that you can have breakfast until 2 pm (so you can be super lazy ;) Everyone who works there... More

I had many recommendations from friends that have stayed here and I couldn't wait to check it out on my first trip to Berlin. They have late check-in and out and breakfast until 2pm so you can't beat that if you are a night person like I am! The room was cute and homey (we had the smallest room on... More

If you are looking for a budget good value place to stay then this is really very good. Me and my partner had a wonderful time in Berlin and the people in this hostel were friendly and helpful and welcoming. We found this place by luck, a fully booked hotel was kind enough to call through and book this for... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
