We stayed at Karlitos during the Chrismas weekend last year. The hotel is well located - walkable distance from 2 tram stations and plenty of eateries around. There is a small kiosk nearby that is open everyday and stocks essential stuff. The restaurant down stairs is cosy. We tried their Celery soup and it was tasty and very filing. The... More

Stayed at the Karlito Apartmenthaus in Berlin over the summer. In brief, spacious, well-located- if you don't mind a little walking, its walking distance from the Hackseher Markt (did I spell that right?), does a fabulous breakfast (not included in the price), very reasonably priced and run by a very pleasant and helpful staff. Its located on a quiet street... More

My wife and I spent three nights at the Karlito Apartmenthaus. It was clean, comfortable, and extremely convenient to restaurants, grocery stores, and public transportation. I don't typically write reviews, but this place was great...especially for the money. I will return!

Other reviews say it all - great location in real local residential neighborhood, near excellent food, u-bahn stations [we used rosa luxemburg a lot] and walking distance to museum island, under den linden etc. Clean, warm, light, airy, good reading lights - we would recommend .

We stayed 3 nights at Karlito Apartmenthaus. Apartment was clean, airy and had nice view over a small park/ancient cemetery. At arrival we even received a free parking ticket. Downstairs there's a small pub/café where you can have your breakfast. Nice neighbourhood as well, close to local subwaystation. Even by foot, close to Alexanderplatz. Highly recommended !

Was a solo traveller for 4 days in Berlin and booked Karlito Apartments, just on review information and they were even better than I expected. A big spacious apartment, bright, airy and V.clean. It was also well equipped. Location was perfect for the city sights. Staff were great and always very pleasant. I would highly recommend Karlito to fellow travellers.

My husband and I just had a wonderful three night stay at Karlito Apartmenthaus. We took public transportation from the airport and it was very easy to get to Karlito. We checked in at the cafe downstairs. We arrived at noon and our apartment was ready. It was a big, studio apartment with a small kitchen, a big bathroom and... More

I have to admit that after reading all the enthusiastic reviwes on this place, my expectations were pretty high, and maybe that's why now I feel like "OK, was that all?". It is a clean apartment, for sure, but I wouldn't say spotless clean. There were some stains on the couch, you know, that kind of stains that leave no... More

At this highly competitive price, a large "apartment" with modern decoration... I am always happy to be here. Rooms are spacious, internet usually works (and if it doesn't, the manager tries hard to solve the problem). The associated café, more a student place, has good drinks, a nice way to end an evening in Berlin. I think there is no... More

Once again TA led us to a great place to stay. The apartment was spacious & inviting. There was a walkout balcony off the room. It was clean & nicely furnished. The neighborhood was full of quaint little places & we were a block away from a Main Street. The metro was about a 5 minute walk away. What's not... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
