Located just opposite the main Hauptbanhauff station known as. HBF which has all the eating places you need. It has a McDonalds as a necessity for you steers. There are some other good restaurants also. Best of all the station links up with most of Berlin. It is an exceptionally busy hotel with it being popular with school groups. The... More

As a young Canadian backpacker, this was perfect for my first time being in Berlin! It was very nice and hip. No problems. Liked the one in Hamberg a little better because this one feels a little "cheaper" but still, a great stay!

I stayed in this hotel on a school trip a few weeks ago. Overall the hotel looked nice and was very helpful to an English school in a foreign country. We were provided maps and pack lunches every day and the rooms were an acceptable size and quality. Every room had a TV and 4 beds however the bunk beds... More

This hotel was in.a fantastic location. Close to every thing from popular landmarks. River cruises bars restaurants shopping and the train station. Although not a luxurious hotel it was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was superb with lovely tasty coffee. The staff were very helpful and friendly. For a city break you can't go wrong booking this hotel.

Not knowing Berlin, I chose this hotel for a five-night stay based largely on price —59 EUR per night— but I lucked out in every other respect. This modest, modern hotel is possibly the most ridiculously well-situated place in which I've ever stayed anywhere. Not only was it literally steps from the Hauptbahnhof with its transportation links [long-distance trains and... More

The hotel is friendly, clean and offers excellent value for money. it is right by the central train station which has plenty of eateries and a decent little Kaiser's supermarket in the basement, and within easy walking distance of the Reichstag, Brandenburg Gate, Unter Den Linden and Tiergarten. The rooms are not huge and wifi is limited but the bathroom... More

If you're going for the Marathon.. this hotel is PERFECT as inexpensive as it is. Would I have loved to stay at the Ritz Carlon, closer to downtown??? YES!!! but I was on a budget and this was the only place that fit. It was just a block away from one of the biggest train stations and about half a... More

We stayed at Meininger hotel for 2 days (from Saturday, April 12nd 2014). The hotel is really near from Hauptbahnhof train station. The rooms are excellent for a 3 stars hotel, but the wifi conection is poor. If you travel by train and you are searching a good hotel, near a train station, this is a good option.

Dear guest, thank you very much for your good and honest feedback. You are always welcome at MEININGER Hotels :) Regarding the WIFI, we can assure you that it is ususally reliable but at peak times it tends to be bit slow. Best regards from Berlin Your MEININGER Team More

Rooms are quite small because if you book a 4-person-room there isn't enough space for all to stay in the room. I was really surprised about the extremely unfriendly staff. If we were sitting together on the bar our had our breakfest we were treated unfriendly, abusive. The staff is very unqualified and this was the first an last time... More

Stayed here on a stag do, good budget hotel in a decent part of town. Breakfast and wifi included, close to central station and txl airport. Ideal for a short stay to explore this great city. Also suitable for families, definitely not a stag hotel

Staying in Moabit

Neighborhood Profile
Moabit
You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most central neighborhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life has traditionally been relaxed and a bit slower here. But the tone may soon be changing. Reasonable housing costs and proximity to city center are attracting more young Berliners and international visitors. This interest is encouraging new bars, cafés and nightclubs, making Moabit a candidate for most up-and-coming neighborhood in the city.
