The location of this hotel is very good if you want to stroll around Nollendorf Platz. The hall is big and welcoming, and so is the bar. The breakfast is average but decent. The rooms are quite tiny, however silent at night (if you are facing the inner garden) and the bathroom is clean and practical.

The Tiergarten choice was a good one in terms of location, 3 minutes from Ubahn and shops/restaurants etc. The hotel is very comfortable and the staff are polite and helpful. Breakfast at €9.50 is better than most hotels and while there are no hot food options, what is on offer is extensive, good quality and makes for a good start... More

The rooms are clean, comfortable, and everything works. Yes, this is a large hotel chain, so the rooms are "cookie-cutter", but for this location, it is an excellent value. Close to the teirgarten, zoo, and Zoo-bahnhof.

We found our room imacualate, the location was a bit disappointing to us as seniors in our 70's. If you are younger and have average mobility it would be easy to walk to U Bahn and area attractions. We found we needed to take taxi's We discovered that if you are traveling a short distance - less than 2 K,... More

Stayed at this Hotel for two nights. The staff was extremely friendly. The room was small but very clean and comfy. The breakfast area was crowded and we had to wait a little to get a table but I guess this happens when you go 20 mins before breakfast buffet finishes ;-) There was an underground and bus stations near... we have stayed in Motel One hotels in Munich, Berlin and Hamburg, and will continue to do so when traveling throughout Northern Europe. It is good to feel familiar with the facilities, we particularly appreciate the comfortable beds, spotlessly clean bathrooms and the super fast wifi. Although they charge extra for breakfast it is a feast of fresh fruits, breads,... More

Wonderful stuff done with so little room! Impeccably clean, great staff. No hot meals on site but you can order sandwiches and beverages. Breakfast is continental with some cheese, cold cuts and boiled eggs, same stuff daily but good enough to eat. Perfect for no frills stay on a budget. Free wifi, help with cabs, luggage storage, sweets on arrival.

This is my 4th stay at Motel One Tiergarten and I am hopeful for Motel One to bring this concept to the United States. You get a clean, modern, new, no frills room for a great price! If you love to travel and want a hotel that is comfortable without paying for the extras this is it. THE GOOD Nice,... More

I've used this hotel regularly over the last few years and spent another weekend there recently. Still can't fault it in any way. the staff are always great but this tie they were outstanding. I won't stay anywhere else in Berlin.

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighborhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the center of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the center of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
