My favorite hotel in Berlin. I like those rooms, they are unusual. I have been there four times; small cosy room is good for one person, Band - room for family. The staff is friendly and location great.

Last time I visited Berlin I stayed at the Nhow hotel, just around the corner, which was perfect...and boy do I regret not going there again. Thought the Michelberger would be nice too, but I was dead wrong. Everything you expect from a basic hotel, is not present. I booked a loft, but there is no airconditioning, so it's seriously... Dear guest, thank you for your detailed feedback. We are happy that you loved our clean rooms and friendly staff. For all other points, let's keep it short: For you, The Big Lebowski is the worst film ever made. For us, it's the best film ever made. That sums up our difference in perception of quality. Exactly the fact, that... More

This is a real quirky hotel, offbeat, alternative, with lovely and 'natural' staff members who take an interest in their guests. And can be quite direct… ;-) No pretense, no 'plastic' approach to hotel management. I must admit, walking into my cosy single room as a seasoned business traveller, was a bit of a surprise… Gulp. First the depressing brown... More

The first time I came to Berlin as a tourist, I stayed in this hotel : it is beyond cool, with amazing rooms, loads of funny details and great breakfast. Now I'm a berliner, I always come back to the bar/cafe with friends for it's a concentrate of Berlin spirit!

Boho café in a lovely peaceful square serving very tasty food and drink. We visited in August and this felt like an oasis of shade following our walk along the east side gallery. Homemade lemonade was served which quenched the dehydration pangs rapidly. The toilets deserve a mention; it was dark down there and whalesound was piped in, the sinks... More

I liked the style of this hotel. It was friendly and relaxed with unique designs. My room had a huge bathroom. The courtyard restaurant is a great place in the summer. Kind of chic shabby. But it was +35C while I was there and the hotel has no airconditioning. It was really hard to sleep when it was so hot,... More

I stayed at the Michelberger hotel for 3 nights in July when travelliln with my family in Germany. We booked a band room which has beds for four people. Check-in was without a hitch and fairly speedy. Our room was on the third floor and was very spacious with a window out to the courtyard. The beds were a sort... More

I stayed here for one night only and it was quite good. The room was large and the bathroom huge but that was probably because I was on wheelchair accessible room. The style is hip / minimalistic so no fuss but everything you need you will find. All was very clean too. The breakfast buffet was really nice with a... More

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighborhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
