While on a business trip, I consciously chose this hotel knowing it was not a business hotel. However, I still wanted to try, as it is well-rated and it's very unique. The atmosphere is very lively and young and the entire experience is very different from most of the hotels I stayed in. I opted for a "loft room". As... More

I'm just back from a two night stay in Berlin. I have never been moved to write on here so quickly before. I have been lucky in my life to work for some superb hotels and hospitality companies, I have also been very lucky to have stayed in many great hotels. This hotel and the people there are stunning! The... More

This is not your typical hotel and if you just want a regular hotel reception/room then this is not for you, however if you are up for something a bit different then definitely go for this. You walk through the main seating/bar area to get to the reception which can be a bit daunting but everyone there is really friendly,... More

This is one of the most unusual and best hotels we've ever stayed at. Great rooms with very clever and quirky use of space. the TVs at the end of the corridors showing The Big Lebowski was a great idea. Lively bar with good DJs and cocktails. Very close to transport links. Reception gave us printed maps with places of... More

The Michelberger is like not other hotel I have ever stayed at. The lobby is integrated with a lobby/café area - which turns into a cool bar at night. There is a mix of guests both at the hotel and the café/bar, and you are likely to feel right at home whether you are 20 or 60, and whether you... More

We had a really pleasant four day stay here. The hotel has a really nice 'vibe' to it and it's really different to standard hotels. We had a loft room, it was a bit small for three people but the kid loved the high bed. Good wifi reception in room, no fridge or minibar. Breakfast was on the pricey side,... More

I've stayed here probably a dozen times in the last 2 or 3 years and I love it. The fact The Big Lebowski is playing on a loop 24/7 says it all. Its fantastic in every way, top marks. The staff couldn't be better, breakfast is wonderful and the cocktails in the bar are quite delicious. Can't wait to go... More

After many deliberations, my girlfriend and I decided to go for the Michelberger thanks to the strong reviews on here and reasonable price. Our expectations were high. If anything, they ended up being surpassed. First of all, the hotel is in a superb location. It's in the very lively Friedrichshain district, and anybody who knows Berlin will know how cool... More

This hotel has a great location. I'd say it's a bit like Berlin's equivalent of Shoreditch. Lots of trendy bars within walking distance and a major train/tram intersection opposite. The hotel bar is open until 4am and has a nice friendly crowd. The room we had was large, it cost 400euro for 2 nights but could sleep 3. Positives: Great... More
