We visited the circus hotel on december and stayed for 3 nights. We booked the double standard room, which was as described on the website (adequate for 2 people). Please note that the hotel is located in a busy road (great access to U-bahn) but is noisy even on december with windows closed! Our room was on the 1st floor... More

So many positives, stayed for 4 nights in December. Location - easy access to U-bahn. Staff - unfailingly helpful, spoke fluent English, always to hand on reception and good humoured. Breakfast - great cold spread (hot choices cost extra) , but plenty of choice, fruit, freshly baked rolls, breads, home made jams & selection of tea, coffee and juices. Atmosphere-... More

I recently spent three nights at this hotel during a trip to Berlin. Overall, I found the hotel to be a perfectly fine hotel. First, the location on Rosenthaler Platz is excellent and offers easy access to the U-Bahn and multiple Tram lines; additionally, the larger neighborhood is a bustling one. Second, the room was very clean and nice and... More

This was our second stay in this modern furnished hotel with a very cosy atmosphere. It feels more like a family run business with friendly young staff. The information booklet on Berlin in the room is full of unusual tips for the city which no other hotel I have come across has provided. There are a few more positive points... More

I loved this hotel. The location couldn't be any handier. Easy to get to from Schonfeld airport - train station is just outside the arrivals hall. A €3.20 ABC ticket from the machine in the station covers the journey on the airport express to Alexanderplatz where you change to get the Ubahn (U8 destination Wittenau). 2 stops along is Rosenthaler... Good location and excellent service. Our luggage was lost and they were really helpful. We visited Berlin to participate in the Berlin marathon and they had special pasta party for the marathoners. Also the breakfast is really good. So I highly recommend.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and loved it. felt very cared for, individual interest shown, clean, really helpful staff. Staff very knowledgeable about not only tourist stuff but things going on locally, free music, English speaking films, markets. Bedrooms spacious, comfortable, quiet. Buffet breakfast (10 Euro extra) lovely, fruit salad, nuts, seeds, yogurts, dried fruit, emphasis on... More

The guide they give us when we arrived was fabulous, with their tips on the city and their DIY tour of the former DDR. We had a very swanky, comfortable room with by far the best and biggest shower we had our entire time in Europe (across 4 countries and 7 different hotels/apartment rentals/B&Bs). We loved the area, great little... More

The staff was great. The room was clean and nice, the only problem we have that it was possible to hear all the conversation from the idle. The breakfast was delicious and healthy. If I will return to Berlin the Circus will be my 1st. option.

Staff are friendly and its clean and very interesting don't miss the view from the rooftop terrace, if you take the uban from Alexandra Platz you can arrive at there door once you have climbed the stair from the uban. One of the great things about The Circus is its location you can walk with ease to see all the... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
