My wife and I plus two other travelers booked rooms at the Winters Hotel during a sightseeing tour of Berlin. The hotel is located in a convenient area of town with easy access to public transportation or within acceptable walking distance to shopping, restaurants and sites. The front desk service was excellent at this hotel. They were more than glad... More

I paid £45 per night for this hotel and was very pleased with value for money. The hotel was very central, clean and quiet. This hotel is just a bed though, the room was tiny and the breakfast seemed excessive €14pp per day - when there are coffee shops on every corner in Berlin! I would recommend this hotel if... More

An excellent value choice when visiting central Berlin. Just a few yards from the Gendarmenmarkt and Checkpoint Charlie, Winters Hotel Berlin Mitte Am Gendarmenmarkt was clean and comfortable with efficient check-in and check-out. The included breakfast was nicely done.

I have been there for couple times for business trips. Hotel is near by shopping centre La Fayette and the city center. Nearby metro station Stadmitte. The hotel is situated in the former Eastern Berlin and it has typical eqitmnet in the bathroom. The wi-fi connection is available only in dining room and in lobby, in room you can use... More

I stayed here with my friend. The room and bed was very comfortable, large room, quiet, spacious bathroom, 2 minutes walk from underground. Quick walk to checkpoint Charlie and many other nearby attractions. Great stay.

Great location, friendly staff (even offered to keep luggage for the day before and after check out) and clean rooms! I highly recommend it, not a luxury hotel though. The hotel is literally 3 min walk from Uban train station and 5 min walk from Charlie Check point. Food stores and restaurants nearby too. If you plan to sight see... More

For the traveller heading to Berlin for the weekend this is the perfectly located hotel - close to all the major sites….easy to get to from the airport (get the S45 from airport to Templehof then onto U6 getting off at Stadmitte stop which is less than 100m from the hotel all for 3.60) For me don't bother spending the... This was a lovely hotel that was well run by very nice staff and a very good location. I was in an upgraded room that was lovely. A good size with a lovely leather suite around a nice coffee table. Very comfortable bed. Very good internet and the breakfast was also good. You can visit checkpoint Charlie just around the... More

Very pleased with this find! Initially, it was difficult to decide which neighbourhood to base ourselves in as the Berlin market is saturated with hotel options. We wanted good location to museums and historical sites. In the end we chose this hotel over other known hotel chains in the area as we were going to use the room as solely... More

Spotlessly clean and efficient hotel. Rooms quite small but adequate. Brilliant breakfast buffet at refectory tables allowing conversations. A really good holiday atmosphere to the whole place. Highly recommended.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
