This was a lovely hotel that was well run by very nice staff and a very good location. I was in an upgraded room that was lovely. A good size with a lovely leather suite around a nice coffee table. Very comfortable bed. Very good internet and the breakfast was also good. You can visit checkpoint Charlie just around the... More

Very pleased with this find! Initially, it was difficult to decide which neighbourhood to base ourselves in as the Berlin market is saturated with hotel options. We wanted good location to museums and historical sites. In the end we chose this hotel over other known hotel chains in the area as we were going to use the room as solely... More

Spotlessly clean and efficient hotel. Rooms quite small but adequate. Brilliant breakfast buffet at refectory tables allowing conversations. A really good holiday atmosphere to the whole place. Highly recommended.

It was even better located than what I previously expected, 2 mn to Stadmitte Ubahn, that connects U2 and U6. We took breakfast first day cause we got 5€ discount so we paid 9€, it is varied buffet of salty and sweet, types of bread, diff kinds of cheese, younhurt...it is really worth paying if you get the discount if... Location is excelent, however if you are more than one person, the standard room is too small and the shower is inside the room... you should take the comfort standard room which is way nicer. They made a mistake with our reservation, we booked the comfort room but gave us the standard (small room). We only noticed it on our... More

I selected Winter's for its location near Humboldt University and Unter den Linden, and the 15-minute walk was just fine on a brisk spring morning. The hotel's fair price was another incentive, and that included a perfectly acceptable room and an excellent breakfast buffet (perhaps a bit more cheese would have been nice). I found the bathroom problematic, though: The... More

The hotel was in a nice location with good access to the metro and close to lots of restaurants and bars. The things I can fault is the lack of internet within the rooms and unfriendliness of the staff. Work on those 2 factors and the hotel will definitely be a hit.

This hotel has good service and staff. A small bar in the lobby with fair service. Good rooms with modern look. Cubicle in the middle as shower gives both a feature and a different look, but is also a bit cheap. Floor was not all to clean but the bed and shower were. Location is obviously okay close to Gendarmenmarkt... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
