Really liked this place, was affordable and was at a high standard. The only thing which was annoying was that there wasnt wifi in the bedrooms, just the lobby! Which wasnt ideal as I needed the internet during my stay so had to use cable connection.. Gendenmarkt is literally around the corner and the u-bahn is on your doorstep. Staff... More

A very good choice as a cheap and good product. Clean rooms, kind staff and perfect location, just next to subway. Next to hotel, there are farmacy, super market, and bakeries. The only negative is the wifi which is free but it is weak and they shoud find another way to give you the password. Generally is a very good... More

Stayed here for 2 nights. The room was spacious enough. I was worried since I read reviews that some of the rooms were small, but we were lucky I guess. The location was really good. Close to the metro and in walking distance to many places. The only complaints is they have really bad WiFi and a little lack of... More

We stayed Friday and Saturday 8th and 9th Jan. Very pleased with the hotel for the price we paid. Room was spotless and very comfy, what a great nights sleep. Staff were very helpful from giving us direction to booking a table at a restaurant. I would definitely recommend this hotel. I do however feel that the breakfast was pricey... More

Ummm where do I start, the staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. Reception was quite cheap looking, young and a bit like a hostel vibe. Our room was large but very sparse and basic, the tiny flat screen TV was fixed up high on the wall....it was clean but well-used, if you know what I mean. The toiletries were... More

This is not a 4 star hotel, 3 at best. Some of the staff are very rude to say the least, no tea or coffee making facilities and the room was tiny for what I paid. Avoid there are better hotels to stay in, I have stayed in better hotels in Berlin that where cheaper. Location is good and rooms... More

What a really nice hotel! It certainly wasn't what I was expecting. My son booked the hotel and our trip as a thank you to my wife and I for supporting him through his education process. I am extremely fussy when it comes to things like hotels, so I was a little wary of what was booked. I need not... More

We had a pleasant stay at the Winters Hotel. Our room was well equipped, tidy & well kept. Housekeeping was generally good and the location of the hotel is a winner - stadmitte, Gendarmenmarkt and check point Charlie are just on the doorstep with Alexanderplatz a 15minute walk away. It was easy to get to from the airport and easy... More

Apart from the location which is really close to checkpoint Charlie and friedrichstrasse, the hotel is just really average. The check in was not the most friendly and I was initially given a room where the shower was in the bedroom - sounds strange but as the room was so small, the only separate area was the wc. The room... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
