I stayed here on a business trip, so I cant comment on this as a base for exploring Berlin except to say that it seemed central with a few bars and restaurants nearby but nonetheless enjoyed a fairly quiet location. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and spoke excellent English, which as a non-German speaker was a big plus.... More

I arrived a few minutes before check in and was told my room wasn't ready. Before I could say anything, they said they had upgraded me to the Presidential Suite. Not THE presidential suite, mind you, but a very nice JFK presidential suite, nevertheless. It had a huge board-room style table with eight chairs that were perfect for spreading out... More

We arrived to a warm welcome from the receptionist which was replicated throughout by all other members of staff. They were very pleasant and helpful should you have any questions. An example of this was when we asked the bartender for our bill to pay for a drink, he accidentally gave us another persons bill. The next night he jokingly... More

The hotel is very modern, clean and in an excellent location. Having read the reviews, I was expecting good things. On arrival first impressions were good. We arrived fairly early at around 11:00am so I wasn't expecting to be able to check in straight away, which was fine. We was asked if we wanted to pay extra to check in... More

I chose this hotel for my first visit to Berlin and was very pleased. The location is good, very quiet, but a bit "isolated" from bars and restaurants if one wants them in immediate walking distance. Perfect breakfast and the wellness facilities with saunas on 6th floor great after a day of much walking. Very clean, clean bedsheets every day,... More

I was considering changing hotels in the last minute but im glad I didnt. Upon arrival we were upgraded to one of the 3 Suites available free of charge. The room was brilliant. And was the icing to the cake. The service was excellent throughout and the bar was well priced with great food and drink available. Excellent location, walking... More

We stayed at the hotel over easter 2015. We had a wonderful room overlooking the TV Tower. Room was spacious and clean. The service at the hotel was superb, professional and kind. We did not try the restaurant but was a couple of times in the hotel bar and also here, a warm atmosphere and professional service. The hotel has... More

We stayed from 10th -13th March and have nothing but praise for the hotel. The reception and bar staff were friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The breakfasts were excellent, offering a good range of food and drink. Although there is a lot of building work going on around the area, the location of the... More

Me and my partner stayed in the hotel for a couple of nights. The hotel itself is nice, the room was nice and tidy with good, clean facilities. However on my arrival the staff on the reception has asked for my card details 'just in case I purchase something from the mini bar' . I agreed and gave them my... More

Dear guests, Thank you very much for your feedback regarding your stay in December 2014. It is standard procedure in hotels worldwide to take authorisations on credit cards as a guarantee for possible extras, therefore we authorise the credit cards on check in with the amount of thirty Euros per night. This is no charge, it is merely a hold... More

Paid minimal charge for room upgrade and SO worth it! Stayed in room 516, 5th floor with double aspect floor to ceiling windows. Striking views of gothic church, directly opposite, Berliner Dom, TV tower and surrounding skyline. OK so the skyline is full of cranes and building sites but we had no noise issues as the hotel has excellent sound... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
