I am really glad that we chose to stay in an apartment rather than a hotel. This flat was top dollar. The communication was very good - Johan was so pleasant and gave us all the information we needed for the flat and the area. The area is perfect - nice residential street that gives you an idea of how... More

I spent 3 nights in this lovely and very well located apartment and I think is one of the best options to stay if don't want spend a lot money. I had a very spacious and stunning one-bedroom apartment, recently refurbished and very close to Alexanderplatz.

Where to start? I regret staying at Max Beer for a couple of reasons. First, its really not good value for money -- its actually more expensive than other city centre hotels and this is not a hotel, but a flat in a residential block of flats. Second, while flat appeared clean (and one is required to pay 20euros for... More

Unfortunately for some reason the information here provided by this guest is not correct. Bedsheets and towels are always included., so there is no need to bring them. All our apartments are non-smoking. Price for an apartment on single base is 59 per night. This guest was suppose to arrive at 18.00 o´clock, if she shows up at 16.00 without... More

Great spot in Berlin. Very good location. Next to Alexanderplatz and a few Metro stations. Only problem we had, it was an Apartment on the 4th floor. The apartment was great and just as described. Few comments before about IKEA furniture..yes it is, and it's not the greatest quality. But, good bed (small-IKEA style) and the kitchen amenities were outstanding.... More

The location is simply perfect. Very close to most of the touristic highlights and the trendy restaurants and Caffe. Appartments are very clean and surprisingly quiet at night. There is no much service, but I dont really need it. You just get the keys and a phone number in case you need something. I also recommend the nearby Augusstrasse street.... More

I wouldn't recommend this place to a friend -- it seems like it would a wonderful place as it is a good size and it a great location, however, it is entirely fitted out with Ikea (even the bed!). Ikea is fine if you're a student who's moved out of home for the first time, but it is not good... More

If you are fed up with cramped hotel rooms, this what you should chose. Very clean apartment, two rooms (bedroom and living room/kitchen) and large bathroom. The apartment is on a courtyard, so no noise. It is in the old eastern part of Berlin, very near to Alexanderplatz and Hackisher Bahnhof. This is a very nice (very nonconformist) part of... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
