The location is good, although public transport is so good in Berlin, even during the night, that a more remote location would not be still ok. There's an Underground station right next to this Hotel, while the Stadtmitte station with better connections is well within walking distance also. No much nightlife in this part of the city though. Stayed in... More

First negative impression came from the staff at the reception who looked at my identification suspiciously and then even grimaced when I asked to cancel one of the nights I had booked with them. The rest of my interaction with the staff was awkward as well. The room was basic with no individual power sockets but the wifi worked ok... More

We were here at the weekend with some people to celebrate in Berlin. The staff was friendly, rooms are clean. The 4 person rooms are equipped with one double bed and one bunk bed. It's nearly to the underground station Stadtmitte and Mohrenstrasse. Breakfast is exclusive for 4,90€. But we didn't get that. For parking you're paying 10€/d.

Well, I stayed here in september 2013 for 2 nights and booked a single room including breakfast. My room was tiny and very basic and could really benefit from a make-over. Cleanliness was so-so but alright for me to spend 2 nights in. Breakfast was OK for my needs and WiFi worked fine in my room. Big plus is its... More

Well it was my second time in this Hostel. This time I was not as lucky as last time. I shared a 4 Bed room and we had no own Bathroom (what I had last time) The bathrooms you share with all the others on the floor are dirty. There is no space if you have to brush your teeth... More

The bathroom was awful, extremely dirty. The toilet was running out of toilet paper and blocked. We changed to the hotel and thankfully there was no problems. The breakfast was okay, it is not really awesome but not to poor as well. The location is really a high point. Easy access to subway and buses, just a few steps.

I stayed there for 4 nights and had a good time. The location is great: close to some tourist attractions like the Checkpoint Charlie and others. A short walk to the Brandenburg Gate. It's central, but it's not too noisy. Also a short walk to the subway. The staff was just OK. The room was clean and big enough for... More

We visited as a group of 6 girls over new year. It was fab that we could book a dorm for just us. The room was spacious and clean. The communal wash areas were kept as clean as possible by the staff. The staff were very helpful at the desk when we were asking about the city! Get a "welcome... More

This hostel used to be an embassy of North Korea! Nowdays that embassy is situated on the next building, but staff said there's a secret tunnel between buildings!! (locked, of course) Well, the entrance hall is big and there's also a big dining hall. The price was very cheap, although it didn't include breakfast even they say in their advertisement... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
