We paid for a quadruple/family room and requested a double bed and a bunk bed as we were a family of 2 parents and 2 children if possible - we were given this room luckily. The hostel was quiet, the room was adequate and well located. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, the WiFi was also good. Breakfast... More

The dorms were very good and comfortable but not the company. Bath facilities were dirty and there are few for all floor and, with no privacy. Very good location. Recommended because of the price.....

Really nice hostel with showers and laundry! Not so much expansive and really close to the Brandenburg Gate, wich means you can easly reach the subway U-bahn or the local train S-bahn to get to the centre!

The hostel is very ideally located, especially for the nearby Cold War/checkpoint Charlie attractions etc. The hostel is large and check in was seemingly slow. The staff on the desk were not particularly helpful. Wifi was poor. However the rooms were decent in size and clean. The bathroom was clean too. The games room/computer area was good however the hostel... More

Probably the worst hostel I stayed in during my travels. I stayed in a 6 bed dorm with very noisy people, top bunk was really squeaky and unstable, felt like it was going to collapse as I slept on it and I'm not a heavy lady! The showers are awful, no privacy and busy from 9am - 11am. Breakfast is... More

we stayed in a 6 bed grill dorm. Super clean tidy and fresh. Extremely spacious. bathroom in top top condition & cleaned daily. security is tight, you need a key to get every where: onto your corridor, into your room. lockers don't require your own lock either, it's all hooked up to your room key which is handy. Roof top... More

I think it was actually quite expensive to stay there. It was 50 euros a person to stay there. The first room had hairs and crumbs all over the bed. After they looked at it they moved us to a bigger room and there were hairs all over the sheets again. They did take care of the problem by changing... More

Four of us stayed here for one night in a 6 bed dorm. The room was very well kept- nice furniture, very clean and spacious. There were individual lockers for everyone in the room. The shared bathrooms were clean but very busy and the showers were right by the door so the shower curtain kept blowing open when people came... More

Hostel was clean and furniture was in good shape. However, this hostel is very unfriendly to backpackers: - It is huge, many floors, lots of people, no community. - Although location is good as it is in the City Center, you end up either spending a lot of money in food or spending a lot of time in public transport... Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
