My mum and i stayed here 24 Feb to 1 March. On arrival we were checked in and given room cards. When walking to the apartment (which i paid for) there were a lot of men hanging around. As 2 females we found this pretty intimidating. When we got to our allocated room there was 4 young boys hanging around... More

The best probably thing in berlin was our hotel. We slept like babys and had everything in our fingertips. Very cozy, clean with kitchen, but no elevator. No need if you are fit... The view was wonderfull because of the two flat room with 6 beds (no one else was in the room because our reservation was for two)

The location of this hostel/hotel wasn't terrible because it was close to a huge nightlife area however it was pretty far from many main attractions, there is a tube stop directly opposite which was so useful. When we booked our beds we were in the hostel side of the building and the room was so bizarre, there was about 22... More

Forget the pictures you see on any booking website for this hotel- these "3 star" rooms do not exist. My boyfriend and I booked a double room apartment with fully furnished kitchen and seating area, but at check in we were told that we were going to be given an even larger room- yippee right? It turned out we were... More

We we excited to see outside of building and closeness to the railway! That was short lived. Entrance foyer had dirty carpets and only one reception clerk who was very cynical. We were given the 5th floor down the back one room, one bathroom with two bedrooms full of bunks. No elevators ! We had asked for a double for... More

Usually hostels have their limitations, but this one is horrible and there is nothing that justify your stay here, even if you just want a bed to sleep. I cannot say anything good for this place. Disgusting. We were in a 10 bed room (5 bunks), with only one bathroom for everybody, no shared bathrooms, no extra sink... and 2... More

This hotel is more a simple hostel. A bit obsolete complex of buildings which would call for a reconstruction offers rooms where number of lodgers in one room seems to be the key. Number of beds or bunks in some rooms is not offering a lot of comfort. Young people enjoying the late night fun. However the hostel offers "ok"... More

We were a group of 50 people, we arrived in the morning yet the rooms were not ready. As soon as we walked in the hotel we found a BIG number of noisy kids (refugees from Syria). We had to carry our bags to the 4th and 5th floor because NO elevator. We walked into our rooms that were separate... More

I stayed at this hotel during a high school trip in March 2013. Upon arrival, it was obvious that we were very far from central Berlin. The hotel is located on the East Side in a very rough neighborhood with only a Subway restaurant within a 20min walk. The walk from the lobby to our room wasn't very long, but... More

Stayed here for 4 nights in April 2013 with 2 other friends for a girls holiday/ city break. The room was basic but perfectly clean and comfortable with a nice large bathroom and plenty of wardrobe space etc. There was also a fridge, sink and two electric hobs which would have been fine for preparing basic meals, although we did... Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
