Great apartment. Good location. Friendly people. Great service buurt Bernard!! Spacious apartment with sufficient equipment. Nearby U Bahn and only à 15 minute walk to Alexanderplatz. Great restaurants in neighbourhood. Parking easy at Kulturbrauerei.

Smartloft is a very nice appartment, big, light and very comfortable. Located very central in a very nice neighbourhood with a lot of nice coffee shops and restaurants. Easy to walk to all need to see objects, and close to underground. We had a fantastic weekend in Berlin with our family

perfect location, superconfortable bed, very clean. The apartment was nicely decorated. It was a pity for the broken elevator, the fact that the reception had not very long hours and the stairs that were a bit dark. Nontheless Bernhard was always available via email and they were very well organized in leaving the keys and everything. Recommended!

Recently travelled to Berlin for four nights, and stayed in four different locations, and smartloft was easily our favourite. Modern, cosy and excellent value for money. Would definitely recommend staying there to anyone and everyone. Next time I travel to Berlin I'm going back here!

The medium sky appartment which we had is very spacious and stylish. Much light comes in from two-stories-high windows. Front and back balcony. Everything is well thought. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The place is extremely quiet, though just a 8 minutes walk away from the Hackesche Höfe, 15 minutes by foot from Alexanderplatz and 15 minutes from... More

...with regular, small, standardized hotel-rooms, smartloft is a great alternative. Spacious, modern, unusual, convinient. The area is becoming more and more popular. Lots of restaurants, unique cafes, shops that are hip and not overpriced. Close to public transport and the city-center is easily reachable. You could even self-cater in the appartement (complete, modern kitchen etc available), A large MAC-Pc for your use and for watching TV, WLAN offcourse,... More

A real value for your money! The location, the service, the place itself. I came to Berlin for a short city break and felt in love with it. Smartloft was also a part of the experience and it was fantastic. Definitely going to come back.

My family stayed here for one night at the extra-large loft. Just after check in we explored the apartment and realised that there was an extra door inside our apartment and opened it, behind that door was a flat from someone else living there. I went down to the reception and ask them to lock that door which was done... More

Dear Mrs. K, thanks for your review on Tripadvisor. I am sorry to hear that you did not like your stay here in our house, but I need to clarify a couple of your complaints. First I would like to apologize for the disturbance by the service man that read out the water meter. This happens once a year and... More

The Smartloft is located in a neighborhood where you can find things easily, you have a super market right around the corner, a metro station nearby and restaurants around the corner. It is not so close to the center if you take the metro, specially because you have to change metro in huge stations like Alexanderplatz or the Haupbahnhof. For... More

Dear Isabella, first of all I would like to thank you for your review. The surprise you found in the coffee maker and that the floor that was not as clean as you expected, is of course our fault and we will make sure that something like this will not happen again and I would like to apologize for that.... Our stay at smartloft was ok overall. Our apartment was clean and felt spacious and open and there was a great bar opposite however, on the downside, quite a few things didn't work and the shower flooded after every use! There was no cable for the music speakers provided, the wifi code given and one of the bedside lights didn't... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
