The hotel is ok - clean, standard interior, nothing special. However, we the service there was really bad. We arrived late in the evening of a Friday, after a 10-hour drive to get there, only to find out out that the hotel didn't have the room we ordered. Instead, the man in reception offered us a downgrade, but insisted we... More

This hotel is a great value. Extremely clean. Lockers available for early arrivals. This hotel is close to the Spittlmarkt U-tram. The men at them font desk could be friendlier. The girls at the front desk were very friendly. Very centrally located!! About 20 minutes from Tegel Airport.

The convenience of being able to walk to the areas where we went sightseeing, enjoyed eating and shopping was wonderful. Although Berlin is a very large city this hotel was easy to find and was easy to travel on to our next destination.

I would stay in this hotel again. Was clean, new and had an amazing breakfast! It was also very close to everything. The downsides are pretty minor, but worth mentioning, has strange lumpy pillows, reception staff are rude (although all other staff seem friendly), heater has two setting very hot or off, the wifi is very slow/weak and you need... I booked it through hotels.com with 30% seasonal discount, was a good surprise as my stay was during Easter holiday and this hotel is located in real Mitte area. Located in a very quiet neighborhood and Spittelmark Metro is within walking distance, like 5 mins or so. I stayed in the building which is away from the main building where... More

Brilliant central location and very near the U2 metro station. Rooms are small but clean, neat and functional. Beds comfortable and bathrooms sdpotless with powerful showers. Staff polite and helpful when their assistance is requested. Lifts took an age to arrive sometimes so we took the stairs. May be an annoyance if you have lots of luggage, mobility issues of... More

We had a standard double room which was just perfect, modern clean and warm, where everything worked! The staff were ok . . The hotel is situated just 5 mins walk from underground but be warned the trip from the airport requires three changes and some very steep stairs. There is an excellent Spanish restaurant opposite , handy because there... More

Firstly, I would not dissuade anyone from staying here. It is well located for getting about and much is in reasonable walking distance. The U2 station is very close & good for travelling , especially to the Olympic stadium and Zoo. The room was comfortable and I didn't have a problem with the 'lumpy' pillow. Everything worked and the mixer... More

Just had a long weekend here, after spending much time filtering through the 500 or more tourist hotels in Berlin . Coffee/tea, bottle opener and beer glasses, flat screen tv, hair dryer, in room safe, clock -radio and and all bathroom extras were included in price. We also took breakfast here every day which was lovely. This hotel is also... More

Stayed for a long week-end and found this hotel to be an excellent choice for our first visit to Berlin. The room was very clean and the staff in Reception were always helpful and polite. The hotel is only approx. 100m from the U bahn. Café at end of road provides good alternative breakfast site. Would have no hesitation in... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
