I was not really a fan of this hotel. It is new, but seemingly constructed with the most basic and cheapest materials that could be found. Need soap? Sure. That is in the refillable squeeze bottle attached to the bathroom wall. Want to leave your bags? Sure. Carry them downstairs and put them in a euro locker. Technically has everything,... More

This was a great room for the start of our inter rail adventure. Staff were really helpful in showing us how to get to the centre. There was about a 15 minute walk to the centre which was fine. The only problem we found was that we struggled finding places to eat nearby other than the tapas place opposite the... More

This hotel was in a great location. We stayed at Christmastime. Rooms were perfect for the amount of time we spent on it. It's just off the main street so it was lovely and quiet. It was cheap too would highly recommend it

Staying for ome night, found the room a bit too sterile and stripped from any comfy details. The pillows were just horrible to sleep on and there were no extra in the cupboard. I would not stay here again...

We stayed here last week for 3 nights. After arriving by train and a short taxi ride to the hotel we were greeted by a rather stern and blunt staff member who checked us in without saying a word to us. We had to ask about breakfast and check out details, which he didn't seem happy to have to answer.... More

The facilities at this hotel are lovely. We stayed at a 3 bed room and the bathroom was large and comfy. Beds are a bit too soft but the sleep was great. Metro stop is 100 meters away and its a U2 line, which means you dont need a lot of train switching. Breakfast is good and rich, but you... More

Stayed here with my partner at the beginning of December and couldn't fault a thing. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, the location was brilliant - there are two metro stops a couple if hundred yards away that get you to anywhere in central berlin within minutes. The hotel has more than one building, we were staying in one... More

My wife and I had a very good experience in the Best Western. Rooms were clean, the service was good and efficient, the shower was hot in no longer than 5 seconds which I found extremely useful in winter, the heating was excellent. It is a good value for what you pay. The hotel is conveniently located and 15-20 minutes... More

We went to Berlin for a weekend trip at the end of December. Best Western offered a very good price for B&B and was in a great location (200 m to subway). Hotel was also within walking distance to some attractions and it was the main reason why we chose it. Hotel is relatively new, rooms are clean and up... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
