Stayed in a 6-bed with family and friends. Room was clean, beds were very comfortable and staff were lovely with loads of helpful tips on getting around and things to see in Berlin. Breakfast was delicious and great value - continental buffet for about €5 each. Also in a great location, about a 20 minute walk from Alexanderplatz and 15... More

This is a massive hostel a few minutes' walk from Alexanderplatz and Berghain, if you can't figure out Berlin's insanely complex mass transport system. Central location, massive lockers, a nice smell of old books, and very friendly reception. Two of the four beds in the room were empty when I was there, probably because of the cold winter.

Went here for a couple of days with my cousin. We enjoyed the stay. Also we met lovely people there and a nice bartender, who recommend us some bars and clubs to go! Its really neat and just like the pictures I saw before booking my stay. Definitely will come back once more!! :) :)

Excellent, super clean, super organised, nothing like other hostels and great prices too! It was as good as a hotel! I couldn't tell the difference! Don't know if people where placed in the dorms randomly, but somehow there was a perfect mixture of cultures and attitudes, so we all felt extra comfortable!-) Really close to Alexanderplatz even on foot! Excellent... More

Location was inconveniently located between the subway and the overground train. Specifically, it's buried between nondescript apartment buildings. Without the help of my GPS I probably would've wandered around the block without any indication it was nearby. Checking in, the guy working the desk seemed upset that I interrupted his day. I was even more offended when he criticized my... More

I think this is probably the best hostel in whole Berlin. its so clean and hygenic, great location, breakfast buffet for 5 Euros was too good, so economical and great outdoors to sit and relax. I hope they had branched in other cities too.

This hostel was nice and tidy and good value for money. Close to metro stop and helpful, friendly staff. They do a really good breakfast for €5 which includes cooked breakfast food as well. They have a laundry system and place where you can store your luggage too

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
