Brilliant hostel. I stayed in a 6 bed room with an en suite shower with my sister and our 3 teenage girls. Rooms were clean and comfortable - super comfy beds. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful for an extra 5 euro a head. Great location near to Alexander Platz and an easy walk to... More

Located in a quiet local area, and not too far from a metro stop, is the wonderful Singer109. The first thing you'll notice is the character of the building it's in. The great staff match this quirkiness, and speak fluent English. For a hostel it's way up there. Rooms are of a good size, clean, warm, and ensuite. There is... More

The place is massive and the people are really friendly. They also have amazing breakfast :) The place is 10 min walk from Alexanderplatz, and still is located at a peaceful neighbourhood. They also have their own in house bar with a pool table.

To say this hostel is the best I've ever stayed in would be an understatement. From the helping me park, to assisting with check in, to making me an amazing faux cappuccino with decaf that I'd been craving, this hostel and it's staff went above and beyond at every step. The rooms are clean, well done, bright, and airy. The... More

Very satisfying stay! The hostel resembled a boutique hotel, with a bar and bistro at the lobby area. There are even charging points and computers for you to use. The staff was really nice too, you can request for hot water from them. The rooms are amazing! The beds are super comfy and there is even quilt prepared for you.... More

We were two females travelling Europe in December. We stayed in this hostel during three nights. I would definitely stay here again. The location was nice. It had some nice Italian restaurants about 5 minute walk away. It was a really peaceful area. Staff was nice and breakfast was really good. Internet connection was good and free pc use too.... More

My boyfriend and I booked this place last minute for 2 nights of our 8 day holiday in Berlin. The hostel is very easy to find and it in a quiet part of East Berlin. The hostel staff are really friendly, and since they are real Berliners they are really helpful especially when it comes to going to the right... More

This hostel was lovely! The lobby was quite a sight. The staff were very friendly and accommodating (you can store your luggage for free). The beds and bathroom were clean and comfortable and overall, it was a nice stay!

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
