A minimalistic but very practical hotel, close to underground Line 6. Very good breakfast and internet connection. Ideal option if your are going to be outside all day. The service is friendly and efficient.

As we got quite a deal on the fee we did not expect anyhing special. And that is exactly what we got. In the positive corner: clean bed linen, clean toilet and the location in the center of the city. In the not so positive corner: unimpressive basic breakfast, unclean room, unhappy and unfriendly staff, no light or electricity in... More

The location is amazing if you are in rush or wanna be in the middle of all action,BUT, do not expect 5 star hotel. It is kind of mix between soviet style hotel and now a days utilities . I like how helpful are some of the administrators. Food is good ,but nothing special. A big tip,its tricky to open... More

Hotel is ok, close to the center and the breakfast is good-basic things to eat. But stuff was unkind, without smile all the time. Bad thing was that I found someone's hair on the floor in bathroom. I don't know would I ever go back in that hotel, maybe because of the price.

We stayed at the Mikon Eastgate on the night of October 14th. The taxi driver had a little trouble finding the hotel, however he stopped the meter when this became apparent. Don't be put off when you enter the building:the reception is on the 5th floor and the hotel is clean and simply but comfortably furnished. The staff are friendly... More

Mikon Eastgate Hotel, Berlin was recommended to us by a friend who lives in Berlin. Staff were always friendly and helpful. Local information available at reception. . Rooms small, clean and serviced daily. Breakfasts included in tariff were excellent with an amazing choice of food available. I must add that the tariff was very reasonable too. Hotel situated within walking... More

As a hotel that doesn't offer keys to its guests to get in the main door, Mikon Eastgate Hotel Berlin must seriously consider an alternative entrance system to one it currently uses. After a brilliant but long day in Berlin, me and my mother were left ringing the downstairs buzzer for half an hour at midnight before being let in... More

Close to Berlin Hauptbanhof station which was the main reason to chose the hotel .2 buses no. 142 and 123 goes close to the hotel and just 2 stops from station , also 15 mins walkable from the station . Quiet area , no direct connectivity to Alexanderplatz . Room size is good , window cover was bit disturbed ,... More

The hotel is in a good location. 15 minutes from the Hauptbahnhof and close to the main attractions. The room was spacious and OK. Unfortunately, the window couldn't be closed properly so it was cold and a bit noisy. Breakfast was OK, but nothing special. Overall, good place to stay a night, but don't expect luxury.

The hotel is located within the former East in a quiet area, ten minutes from shops and bars and fifteen minutes walk from the hauptbahnhof. The nearest Ubahn is only 5 minutes away and trams run close by. Don't expect 5 star luxury, but the rooms are spacious, clean and warm (we went in the depths of winter). There is... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
