In order to visit a friend nearby, we selected this hotel for one night stay in Berlin. Because our booking was a bit late, the standard room fully booked, then a suite was booked indeed. It is huge than my expectation. Not really noisy even it locates ground floor facing the street.

Karin is very very kind, we felt very welcome. The triple room was big, the beds maybe a little bit to soft for my taste but cosy and big. The room where light and the neighbourhood is nice. We liked it very much.

We stayed in the Mitte apartment (the one with red furniture on the photos). It was well located in a nice neighbourhood, we found some lovely local bars and restaurants. Very convenient for u-bahn and getting to Alexanderplatz. The accommodation was nice, spacious and clean. The wifi didn't work well but not a big deal.

Have just returned from three nights at the studio apartment. Arrived late but easy instructions to find apartment. In a quiet residential street and peaceful block. A very comfortable studio with a big bed, very clean and good facilities. Kitchenette well appointed and large bathroom. It was really nice to come home to at the end of the day. Many... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at Pension Absolut for 2 nights in September. Luckily we arrived before the reception desk closed for the day at 2, or else we would have been confused about how to check in. The reception desk did send me an e-mail with passcode information, but as an international traveller, I was not accessing e-mail conveniently.... More

Our appartment with two rooms was absolutely new and clean (everything comes from Ikea, but it is well combined), the area is absolutely calm and safe, there is a backery and a restaurant across the street, a fine thai-restaurant in the same street and a big shopping mall and an underground station on the Schönhauser-Allee really close. There are many... More

Firstly, Kerstin who works on reception is amazing! Nothing is too much trouble and she gives fab advice on what to see and where to go. We stayed in one of the apartments which was excellent. Very comfortable bed in an enormous bedroom with tv and free wifi. As someone else has mentioned the wifi is quite slow but it's... More

My daugther and her two girlfriends stayed here for four nights. They were really pleased with the accomodation. The rooms were great, the bathrooms clean and public transport was close by. However, the problem was on the last day. They were required to checkout in the morning and could not leave their luggage at the Pension. They were told to... More

What a disappointment after reading so many good reviews! We stayed at the "apartment" (a large studio). The shower does not work properly: you can either freeze to death or get boiled, your choice! When you stay for several days it quickly becomes a nightmare. The WiFi is also useless. Count 5 minutes to load the most basic webpage. And... More

Thank you for your feedback. We have repaired the shower and exchanged the WiFi Router with a better one. Now the signal strength is good. Also we do not charge the WiFi, so we have used a cheaper flat rate which reduced bandwidth after 1 GB traffic. We are now rethinking this. We hope you will come back and visit... More

I stayed here with a friend in September 2011. The room was lovely and bright with a nice high ceiling and comfortable bedding. The bathroom was really nice and although it was shared we never had to wait to use it and it was only a couple of doors down the short corridor. The only thing we found difficult about... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
