The room was quite large, but it was very dark, the rolette for windows was out of order so we felt like there was night 24/7. Room and bathroom was clean, coffee tea for free. When we check in the lady was nice, but when we checked out that guy was staring to the pc and didn't bother to respond...... More

The hotel is only a 5 minute walk from a U-Bahn stop that connects to Alexanderplatz (a 5-10 minute ride). There are many restaurants and cafés in the area as well as a grocery store just down the street. It is a basic hotel, no frills, but it is comfortable, clean, and well priced. I had a comfort room with... More

We stayed three nights there. We recommend asking what you will get for the price (55 euros for double occupancy bedroom) Parking is in the street and we found a free park not far from the "pension" The first deception was to find out that there was no breakfast included in the price even if the name calls for some... The place is clean and cheap enough for its location. Quite a lot of restaurants near the area. The neighborhood is quiet and the park is about a block away. There's TV and free wifi. It's near the U Bahn, so very easy to go around Berlin.

I have absolutely no complaints, everything was fine. I got a good deal - 150€ for 5 nights for a spacious single bedroom with nice new furniture. I believe they have many different rooms in a more than one building, so experiences can vary.

I have stayed in this Pension (B&B without the breakfast) a few times as I have family in Berlin - I like it - it is clean, quiet and the owners are friendly (not sure what nationality they are??). This pension is very near Samariter Strasse U Bahn, which is only a few stops from Alexander Platz (the former east... More

This is definitely a basic, no-frills place. Nearest U-bahn is about 5 minutes walk, and another 5-10 minutes metro trip to Alexanderplatz. There are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants nearby, and the area seems pretty good. Be aware that if you only speak English, you will struggle to communicate with the owners. One girl who sometimes works there speaks... More

The rooms are quite dated and not very well ventilated (at least not when it's 30 degrees!), but I really can't complain. We had a great stay. There is a shop selling almost everything right next door, the underground (Samariterstraße)/buses/trams are all 5 minutes walk away, and the underground is 5/10 minutes into Alexanderplatz, which is bang central Berlin. You... More

I was concerned by other reviews after I booked, but found this place to be surprisingly good, offering a spacious, warm room with TV and a good wifi connection, as well as two very clean bathrooms to share between 4 guest rooms. Rooms have bins emptied daily and linen changed every few days. There is also access to a kitchenette... More

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighborhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
