Stayed in a wombats in Budapest and this was equally as good if not better! Really helpful staff. Rooms are spacious and each bed has its own charging point which is very useful. Big lockers operated by keycard is safe. The bar on the 7th floor was always very social and prices were cheap. The location is also very central... More

this place was a really nice place to stay. The rooms were clean and fairly spacious for a hostel. The downstairs has a good relaxing area and a restaurant. Staff were all lovely and wifi worked! Not to mention a bar upstairs! Very good location, overall a great place to stay in berlin!

The hostel is great, the staff is very kind. It is very clean and quiet (despite being huge). The location is great, you can access the main attractions on foot and also access public transport to get to the airports. The beds are great, the bathrooms too. The breakfast (surcharge) is very good and the bar (on the terrace) is... More

The rooms were great, relatively spacious and clean. The hostel's location is a little bit far from most attractions though. It is approximately 15 minutes walk to the shopping district at Alexanderplatz, and slightly more if you are walking to the Brandenburg area. Staff there were nice and helpful. This is definitely a good hostel for the service, the cleanliness,... More

Had no idea what to expect from this hostel after backpacking around Europe, you can tell as soon as you walk in it's a great place,30 seconds from the underground. Reception was exceptional and always willing to help you out/answer questions. Great lounge areas too. There is a fully equipped kitchen you can use. Free, fast wifi. There's also a... More

Super helpful staff, rooms are well equipped and have regularly cleaned sheets. Stayed ~two weeks, staff really came through helping me and a friend when we were sick, lost or otherwise needed help. Kitchen is well equipped, and the restaurant/breakfast place is pretty groovy (theres tonnes of food around the block as well). The bar never disappointed, guaranteed to be... More

I would recommend this hotel for family/friends(ideal). It is affordable. The breakfast was very good. The service was also good, for example, free printing of tickets/confirmations. There is also a bar.

We nicked named the Wombat Hostels "Wombology" due to the many times we have been there and always meeting future doctors. The place is always clean and front desk is very helpful! I lost my passport in the front lounge area. Luckily there are some honest people that stay there and they found and returned my passport with the money!... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
