Unfortunately I had to book a 3 star for a 4-day business trip to Berlin; I would have to go to that area and the budget was not very high, so this hotel was really the only solution available at the end! And I was very worried, until I arrived at the hotel. The lobby is small but well functioning,... More

I really enjoyed the location of this hotel - it's not in the city centre by any means, but very convenient to the East Berlin Wall gallery, public transport (the tram is great, goes everywhere) and "edgy" nightlife. Rooms were spacious, modern and comfortable. However I stayed with a travelling partner in a twin and we were charged 5 euro... More

We booked 2 rooms in this hotel for 2 nights because it's walking distance to the office. When we arrived the first evening, we were told that both of our rooms were flooded and that an engineer couldn't fix it until tomorrow. Of course this is the standard line in the industry to say that they overbooked the rooms. Which... More

The neighbourhood of this hotel is definitely not the best you can find in Berlin. It's right next to a train station (very convenient) as well as a massive club (Matrix) so you can be certain to walk along with other loud and drunk people if you get back to the hotel late at night. Good and very cheap kebabs... More

A nice hotel but an odd layout. They have two buildings, a new one and an old one, so each floor is split up among the two buildings, it also means each floor has a separate elevator and you won't know which one you need to go to until you try as there are no signs. The rooms themselves are... More

My partner and I stayed at the hotel Klassic on a tour around Europe, it is fair to say we saw our fair share of hotels, but this hotel was by far the worst on our journey. When we arrived we checked in and almost immediately left for dinner to find out friends of ours had been allocated a room... More

The klassik is very close to the train stations, tram line and is a very clean, comfortable spot. People should be aware that there is virtually constant noise from the streets outside which on Fridays and Saturdays gets even louder from the clubs around. Good friendly staff who looked after our luggage so we could take a walk around the... More

Stayed here for 2 nights in late August, was a good spot, near to the train station, near to the east side gallery, Rex at reception was really great, went above and beyond to help us out, even to the point of slicing some apples and grapefruit for us late at night, and chatting with us in the early hours.... If you are visiting East Berlin and looking for a clean inexpensive hotel you would do a lot worse than staying here. I know it is a bit noisy at night...all night but I would presume you were taking in the nightlife like everybody else so you would be adding to the hubbub. Prices were very reasonable and breakfast nice,... More

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighborhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
