Good location- close to station and easy walk into the city. Room very clean, owner wonderful. although kitchen could use an oven; stove was slow; kitchen had alot of little bugs flying around and had a funny smell; room was also in need of better lighting as it was very dark. There were also a few renovations going on in... More

Nest Hotel is kind of a cross between renting an apartment and staying at a hotel. The company has bought and restored an apartment building with (I think) 6 studio apts, and you rent one by the night like at a hotel; but, there are no services (reception, concierge, room svc, etc.) -- you just get the apartment. The apartment... More

I booked three nights at the Nest based on positive reviews and was not disappointed. It's in a very bohemian part of Berlin, which is full of groovy second hand stores, ethnic restaurants and beguiling graffiti art. The apartments are behind an anonymous door, under an illuminated Nest Apartments sign. It is not a traditional hotel, so there is no... More

We were really impressed with our Nest apartment. It was beautiful and spacious and felt like a proper little home for a few days. I thought the ktichen was especially sweet. When were there it was incredibly cold and snowy outside but the apartment stayed really warm. Also we arrived later than planned due to transport issues but the lady... More

Nest Apartments gave us a chance to feel like we lived in Prenzlaurberg like locals. This was a far more satisfying way to stay in a city than a chain brand hotel. Our apartment had a very nice 70s chic feel. The furnishings were tasteful, somewhat retro, harking back i am guessing to the pre unification days. The kitchen with... More

Clean, amazing service, great location, worth every penny! I'm a stickler for cleanliness and you could basically eat off of the floors at this place. Amazing! The kitchen was perfectly equipped. We ate in several times. The linens and towels were all fresh and clean, the bathroom was spotless. The apartments are really cutely furnished as well, but not so... More

The apartment is in a nice and quiet backyard in the middle of trendy Prenzlauer berg, with loads of cafés, restaurants and bars within a few minutes walking distance. Everything is clean and the kitchen contains all you need for self catering. There is even coffee for the coffee machine. The bathroom was nice, and there was enought hot water... More

We wanted a nice apartment for some days in late December and Nest Apartments was the perfect choice. The room was in retro style and more than big enough for two persons. We also had a nice kitchen, though there should have been an oven there (pizza!). The apartment lies one minute away from some of the coolest vintage shops... More

We stayed at Nest apartments for a week in May and couldn't have been more impressed. It was everything we had expected after seeing the apartment online. Beautifully furnished with attention to detail. Although it's marketed as a studio, it is really spacious and plenty big enough for our party of three (2 adults and 1 child). Loved the desk... More

We used to live in Berlin and during a recent visit we wanted to stay somewhere that felt as if we had moved back. These apartments are wonderful, nicely decorated, good quality and spacious and in a good location. The only problem were construction works in the courtyard, pretty much from 7 to 7, but these should be over by... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
