I really enjoyed my stay here. I was actually traveling on business, but I loved it. Had one of the best meals in Germany here, but it was pricey. I wish I had been here with my wife. Just beautiful.

My husband and I booked a room at the Schlosshotel Steinburg for one night as part of our honeymoon. Although it was a bit hard to find, and located a bit far from Wurzburg itself, we enjoyed our stay very much. The room was beautiful, the service great and the scenery amazing. The dinner we had was fancy (and priced...

I decided to try Schlosshotel Steinburg due to the Lonely Planet and Frommer’s Travel Guides. Both the guides describe the hotel as a wonderful stop on the Romantic Road. Well, it’s a good choice, but not as much the guides indicate. It has wonderful views of the city, the Main river and the vineyards, the rooms are comfortable and the...

From the internet, we were expecting a much higher quality of hotel. For European hotels, and probably for Wurzburg, this was not a terrible hotel, but definitely not a four star property.
To begin, you must have a car to stay here, I'm not sure how you would do it without one. It is impossible to find, you must travel...

The hotel is high on the hillside surrounded by vineyards overlooking Wurzburg. It is not really within walking distance of the city because of its elevated site but the views of the river, city and Marienberg Fortress are spectacular. There is a very nice terrace area where you can have drinks, tea, coffee and also eat if the weather is...

Thought the internet misleading on this hotel, we were expecting a 4 star spa hotel arrived at a dark, gothic style rather grubby pile at the top of a hill ! The views of Wurzberg were super, but our room very small & dated, ensuite bathroom tiny & probably 1970's ! Compared to the price we'd paid for 2 previous...

Pros:
Fantastic view
Quirky and well decorated rooms
Free minibar
Great Breakfast
Good standard of restaurant.
Pool and sauna
Cons:
Expensive internet: Provided by T-mobile so may be OK for German users but for international travellers without international wifi roaming it'll cost 5 euros for 60 mins or 20 euros for 600 mins. Frankly too expensive for what is really...

We stayed at the Steinburg quite some time ago when our son was very young -- this time it was nice to be back with him, his wife, and their little boy. The Steinburg sits atop a high bluff overlooking the center of Wurzburg; views are wonderful, outdoor dining on the terrace is quite pleasant, and the kitchen is a...

I stayed at the hotel for a conference for three nights. The conference facilities are fantastic - plenty of supplies and great rooms to work in.
My room was very comfortable, the soft drinks in the minibar are free and plug sockets are in the right places (beside the bed and near the dressing table).
I needed train times, which...

The upside:
The hotel is beautiful and the sweeping views of the city and vineyards make staying here a must. It is a beautiful, authentic castle. The lunch is very good on the terrace and the breakfast was decent. Our room had a spectacularly huge terrace from which we could see both the city and the vineyard.
The downside:
No...
