The hotel was clean, breakfast was nice, service was great. We stayed in a double room with washbowl (no bathroom). It actaully was a great option to save money and we had no regrets about not having the bathroom in our room. Comfortable room. Nice location to rent our car and head down the romantic road route. more

We stayed one night in Wurzburg really just as a stopover so we could catch an early train to Rothenburg, and were pleasantly surprised with our experience in the city. This hotel is nothing fancy, but we didn't want/expect anything fancy so it was just fine with us. The staff was friendly and helped us with directions and restaurant recommendations,... more

We had a wonderful stay at the CityHotel Schoenleber. We walked about 4 or 5 blocks from the main train station (Hauptbahnhof) in Wuerzburg to get there, then we walked to all the local attractions while we stayed there, including the Residenz, the Cathedral, Festungs (Fortress) Marienberg and several quaint cafes and Weinstube. Public transportation is also available, if you... more

I stayed here for 1 night in April 2007. A single room with private bath. I found this hotel on Rick Steves' guidebook. I had tried 1 or 2 other hotels but they were booked. Booking it via email was very straightforward. The hotel is at a great location. About a 5-7 minute walk from the train station. And 5... more

On a cycling trip along the Main (very much recommended!) we arrived in Würzburg with no reservations. The first hotel we stopped at offered us their last room for € 270,00 (breakfast extra). No way! We had a list of hotels and a city map so we called the Schonleber and they offered us a double room for €75, breakfast... more

We stayed at this hotel during our cycling trip along the river Main. Rooms are about average with quite comfortable beds, and prices were very reasonable. They also found a secure room for our bikes. What made the hotel for us was the manager who had us in stitches all evening. He had only a small double left for my... more

We were stuck in Wurzburg with no European currency and the kind staff at Hotel Schonleber helped us more than they probably know. We were able to pay for our room with a credit card (not the most common thing in Germany) and then they helped us get access to Euros -- all done with a smile and without hesitation.... more

I found the Hotel Schoenleber rather lacking in warmth. There is, however, an elevator, which is not usually the case in budget accomodations. I would not recommend the smaller room with 2 twin beds; it was really cramped. The window is at the head of the two beds, and in order to open it, it must be swung into the... more

Great stay. Friendly, Quiet, clean, comfy room. Great view out window. Walking distance to railway station, shopping, tourist sites,,,everything. Handled our change in plans, to stay longer, seamlessly. Large selection at breakfast. Very reasonable price. We hope to return. more
