I can really recommend this hotel. Stayed one night there in June 2009 and enjoyed the feeling-home mood. My room was quite large and kept real tidy. The decoration is rather old-fashioned (with e.g. orange and green bathroom tiles), but in its own way charming. Be prepared to climb some stairs though. more

This hotel was in a convenient if hard to find location, central yet still quiet. Room was clean and comfortable but outdated and slightly drab. Breakfast was OK but uninspired. Front desk personnel were friendly and accomodating. Overall, very ho-hum experience. more

Our family of 6 spent one night in early June at the Sankt Josef in Wurzburg. The hotel's location on Semmelstrasse is quite convenient to both the train station (about a 10 minute walk) and the Residenz and city center (again, about 10-12 minutes). The rooms were clean and the hotel owner was extremely helpful in emailing us good directions... more

We have just returned from a two days trip to St. Josef. The hotel is ok, but we have had some problems: No elevator, very small rooms especially the bathroom, hot rooms, noise in the morning at seven, breakfast just ok.... more

We stayed at the St. Josef for only one night during an unusually hot spell two weeks ago. This is a small, reasonably priced inn located near the Residenz and within easy walking distance of all the major sights and restaurants. The accommodations are basic but everything was very clean and the staff was efficient and courteous. You can park... more

My husband and I were thrilled with almost everything about this little hotel. The location was fantastic as were the owners who greeted us. If you can't walk up a flight of steps with your luggage, give the hotel a miss as the lobby is on the second floor and no doubt your room could be up another flight or... more

Reception staff were very welcoming when we arrived. Undercover parking available at small cost. Had to climb a few stairs with baggage to get to room, but not a problem for us. Room very clean and tidy. Unfortunately shower holder was broken, so had to direct shower nozzle manually to wash but not huge problem. Very close to Wurzburg Residenz... more

This was the last hotel we stayed at on our 2 week vacation in Germany. The rooms were small but clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The beds were cozy and the pillows were fantastic. The breakfast had lots of homemade hot items including meatballs (never thought of that as a breakfast item before) that were so... more

Location is excellent, within walking distance of most of Wurzburg's sights. The hotel itself is very clean, the staff accomodating and friendly. The rooms look like they haven't been updated since the Sixties, but there's a sort of dated charm to them, and the little breakfast gazebo is a pleasant place to start the day. We had a room with... more

My wife and I spent several nights at St Josef as the top recommendation in Wurzburg from tripadvisor. The Location is excellent and the breakfast quite nice and room spacious for a 2 star hotel. However, when it is so hot out ,the lack of airconditioning is a factor of discomfort (many much fancier and more expensive other hotels in... more
