The rooms are basic but clean and functional (they are reminiscent of student accomodation). The Pension is well located at a stone throw from the train station. It is situated above a pub; I have not been disturbed by the noise, but be aware that earplugs might come handy on weekend nights. The bathroom is shared, but clean. Free WiFi!
This place is misleading! The building is a dodgy 5 story building, with rooms to rent only on the 2nd and 5th floor, the rest being rented to students. The rooms are only cosmetically renovated to look more like hotel rooms, with no attention to detail. The rest of the building feels cluttered, student house atmosphere, not private.

This is a hostel, but no shared community space. It sits over the House of 150 Beers, so it's just a few rooms and 2 shared baths.
Pluses: at 49E for a double, very reasonable; clean; walking distance to Old Town and Residenz; they give you gummy bears with your linens!!!; over a very cool beer house
